UPDATE: Yesterday I completed the 1,200 mile break-in service. The dealership put the car up on a rack and gave me a tour of the underside components. This is truly an amazing machine, and it is quite the rocket ship! It seems to has trouble putting the power down in 2nd and 3rd. The '17 non-zcp M3 I test drove didn't seem to have this problem, and the temps were colder at the time!

To the OP - do you think the new design is "brighter" at night, compared to the pre-LCI LED headlights?
The shape is definitely cooler in my opinion on the new ones, but I wondered if there was any additional illumination produced by them?

I don't think the brightness has changed. Tomorrow night (or the next night it is not raining), I will take comparison photos/videos next to my 435i w/ LEDs.

When you look beyond the spec sheets, candy wrapper youtube reviews, and actually look under the covers, you realize why the F8X is still king in this segment, hands down. Motorsport tech trickling downstream into mass-produced products doesn't happen overnight.

US government has some seriously dated regulations which by law puts strict limitations on not just lighting technology available to the mass market, but actual lumens allowed. Aside from the '18+ adaptive light aesthetic, the F8X lights seriously suck compared to the competition. All we got at day's end is that silly amber light strip. Glass half full my friend.
