Indy M owners?

I've been wanting to do Putnam for a while, but just can't get over the cost of track insurance, lol. Going to have to stick with autocross events for now... have fun! I'll be able to see what the tracks like when Gator Motorsports hosts their driving event with the Lotus Evora 400. Already got registered for that

Putnam is nice it's all grass off the track and there's 1 turn with a wall only where the pits are so I just take that turn slow and the rest are safe. I didn't use insurance when I brought my focus RS last year and it was fine even though I spun 3 times lol. I'm not sure if I'll get the insurance or not at this point will re-assess closer to event probably will bite the bullet and get it though.

Putnam is very safe when it comes to run off, with the exception at turn 10, which can look hairy at first but you build confidence as the day goes on. I did a total of 5 events last year (between the Autobahn CC tracks and Putnam) and I did not purchase track insurance on the F80. I typically run with the intermediate group and felt confident enough with my track tires and brake pads to push my car safely. I also did DSC fully off almost right away given I knew how intrusive it was during autocross but if you are just learning MDM, or euro MDM, might help you get more comfortable but if you are even pushing your car just a bit.. DSC WILL kick in.

Spotted: A beautiful purple-blue M3--possibly Tanzanite, maybe San Marino--with dark trim, heading north on 31, and exiting onto 146th/151st St. this evening at around 6:30 pm. It looked a beautiful blue in the driving rain. I was hoping that it was someone here in the forum. Anyone?

I was in my Sakhir Orange M3 continuing north on 31. Give me a shout if it was you or if you've seen this car around. TIA

15' MG/SO, Executive package, Driver Assistance, Tech package. Certified Elite, 9k miles.

BTW The Collection has a SO/SO in their fancy car display at 96th/Keystone, someone buy it.

I wonder if that SO/SO was a 2016. If so, I might've met the previous owner.

If anyone else is interested, I'll be at the Gator Motorsports track day on 7/22 at Putnam Park. I see we have an M4 GTS and another F80 that is also going to be there. I'll be in my SO F80.

Afterwards planning... (as long as my RE-71's that I use for the track hold up)..

• NCM with Chin Motorsports on 10/14-15

I am the F80 lol. It's gonna be fun. I had a gray focus RS last year. I gonna swap brake pads next week.

Hey Snake - Welcome to Indy! As you can tell from this thread, there's not much activity in Indy. A few of us met up last year, but that's about it. I'd be up for another meet. I think Gator Motorsports still has a general (not M specific) meet on Sunday mornings. They also sponsor track days at Putnam Park Road Course. 10/10ths also sponsors a bunch of track days every year if you're into tracking your M.
