M4 performance side skirt
Hi Guys,
Picking up my 18 AY M4 ZCP this weekend. I'm really liking the side skirts on the car and wife is not feeling it. http://cdn.bmwblog.com/wp-content/up...n-Yellow-9.jpg What does everyone think? Also, the side skirts on the car seems to be painted on the lower-side to match the AY, doubt that's how it comes from BMW.

Keep in mind the black portion is a sticker in that image. It blends in with the top portion of the side skirt extension (which is also black) and then it seems like they painted the edge AY.

IMO it's tacky. Clean look is a lot more desirable, so I'd say listen to your wife
This car doesn't need anymore "M" or "M performance" badges on top of the 60+ M badges it already has. Let the car's beauty show itself. My 2 cents. Other than that, congrats on the M! |

I like the look, I'm waiting for AY m4 as well and already got side skirts.
Did u see any in person? That was my reason for getting them, I saw few cars with them on and liked the look

The black side sill extension looks great by itself. The black decal not so much IMO.

I waivered for a year and a half and just added them a few weeks ago. No stickers. Just the black plastic skirts that match the front MP splitter perfectly. I'm loving it and wish I did it sooner.

They come in matte black from the factory so the image you posted is not how they look like stock, they have been painted. I prefer the full black color on them though to match the front black grilles and the black side markers (if you have those) |

Thanks guys! You are of no help
I'll pick up the car and drive it fora week or two and see how it grows no me. My buddy just put one on his 4 series so I'll go see it in person and see if I can even be more confused. C-mu, nice car man, the skirt goes well with the lip and adds to the overall stance of it.

I thought it was a sticker too, but BMW sells a rocker panel thing that looks exactly the same, so didn't know for sure. My friend just picked up one for his new 335x and it does look good.

If you like the black contrast, but don't want the M-Perf logo, folks on e-bay sell the black matte wrap. Got that on my F30 and loved it, didn't want the additional M badging that didn't need to be there

The sideskirts and front lip together either both painted or left black look great on that car but don't get the sticker, it's expensive and IMO ugly!

Definitely not going to put the M performance sticker on the side...don't really need to advertise anymore. Plus the entire dilution of M by BMW pisses me the hell off to begin with. I'll look at the sticker option with the bottom sill and see if that's doable.
Wasn't really going to do the lip, front splitter with this car but who knows...

If you guys look at the pic, there is no lip/splitter package on it. Also, unlike you fkrs (term of endearment where I come from), I don't live in SoCal or UAE. Don't think I'd drive in winter, but I want to have that option without turning it into snowplow
Thanks guys, got a good deal on the sill sticker and the the skirt painted, let's see how she look au natural this weekend and go from there. Plus, happy wife, happy life as some say...so who knows.

C-Mu's car looks great, the car you linked, not so much. Seriously, listen to your wife and don't waste your money on that god awful sticker!
