I almost did the same thing this weekend. Wife talked me out of it. Vettes are gorgeous and unbelievably fast. It's not even on the same playing field as the M4 in my opinion, but the M4 is just such a better overall package.

In the pst month I looked at both the grand sport and the GT350. Granted this was a 2016 which meant it was track pack or tech pack, not both. I might be the only person ever to say this, but I hated the gt350. It could not put the power down to the ground when I drove it, and the interior was worse than the corvette. I think I would maybe consider the gt350r, but the list on them is just laughable in terms of markup. My wife and I don't have any kids and have two other cars (Jeep and truck), and I still couldn't bring myself to get a less practical car like the vette or gt350. After owning the M4, the only car I could jump to would be a cayman or 911. I'm snooty, I enjoy beautiful german sports cars. There I said it.

I think most in this forum will say they would pick the M since that is what they did.

Personally, I don't like the styling of the current Vette generation. I prefer round tail lights for example. I also struggle with the thought of living with the interior for my everyday car.

Two different animals. The M3/M4 are awesome all round cars for daily driving. The corvette is a true sports car. After a little over a year I'm getting rid of my M3 for a 17 Z06. Simply because it won't be my DD. Otherwise the Ms are hard to beat for the versatility and price.

^^^^^^^ I did the opposite two years ago. Sold my C7 Z-51 after 18 mos and bought my M4. My car is a DD for 8 mos of the year, the other four mos put up for the Michigan winters. I couldn't be happier with my decision. For me, nothing beats the dual purpose it serves........

I completely agree. It makes an incredible daily driver. Not sure there is a better car for the duty. I could never daily a corvette. It's a weekend toy.

For me, it's not really about M3 vs Corvette. It's really about having a 4 door sedan vs a 2 seat coupe. I wanted a 4 door sedan, and dollar for dollar, the M3 is difficult to beat. If I wanted a 2 seat sport coupe, then a Corvette could easily have been my choice. Having both would be ideal.

This was my plan before the 17 Raptor came out. Then I figured I could daily it. No sense in keeping the M with a Z06 in the garage for nice days.

I must have a 4 door.

the C7 GS is WIDE! so much tire under there. lighter than F80 as well.

If I had an extra 50k to spare I would have one. it says midlife crisis like no other. maybe a camaro ZL1 1LE instead....

Consider something other than "small vagina". That has more of a pedophile ring to it than sounding like an insult if that was the goal.

Different cars for different market segments.

The C7GS destroys an M4 in terms of all out performance. Period.

I think it's hard for some to get past the whole "GM" aspect of the car even if it's a separate division and the car is insane from a performance point of view. It's like the Buick stigma that they are trying to shed by marketing to the younger segment.

I'm sure the Jag is a much better DD than the Vette.

I almost went with a C7. Had a C6 Vette before, so the M3 was something completely new to try. Also, I wanted something more practical so that I would hopefully get more use out of it. It is working out so far.

Same here - I really like the current generation Corvette - but right now need full back seat, 4 doors and full trunk

If I drove it, I'm sure I'd pick the vette. Even though it is less practical I'd find a dozen ways to justify it in my mind, IF I drove it.
