Do chargepipes that actually fit the F8x correctly exist?
Okay, so I've gone through 4 sets of charge-pipes to try and find a set that will actually fit correctly. I've spent as little as $200 all the way to $600 and they ALL have fitment issues.
My requirements I reckon aren't that difficult... 1. Be able to use the stock plastic engine cover 2. Work with the stock intake box 3. Most importantly, not make contact or rub on anything and doesn't require modification Does this set exist? I'm about to give up and just try to reinforce the stock CPs. So far I've tried DOC Racing, BMS, ER, and VRSF. I'm still shocked at how these companies can release such ill-fitting products and have the audacity to charge as much as they do... I almost pulled the trigger on some ESS Silicone CP's next but read they also have fitment issues with the stock airbox and even some aftermarket ones as well, now I'm back to square one. |

installed my vrsf chargepipes last weekend. went in without any issues - no rubs, not touching anything, engine cover snaps in on all spots, stock intake boxes...
you sure your ancillary parts aren't misaligned themselves and its not the chargepipes...? |

These are the VRSF CP's installed, afterward it pushes the stock airbox over probably 1/2" or so and puts a strain on everything. The rear pipe also rubs on a rear wiring loom near the firewall. |

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but to my eye, the stock charge pipes are not the same shape all the way through - they flatten up near the middle.
Not one of the aftermarket charge pipes I've seen have this feature. They're all full circular pipes the whole way through. I guess the silicone charge pipes bend, but that's not the same thing. I thought it was obvious that OEM fitment was impossible because of this. Not even worth the trouble to me, but I guess I'm stock, so I don't really need to worry about it. |

ESS fits and is nice because you can adjust it accordingly or even trim the silicone piping. I had some fitment issues until I just finessed it in more (that’s what she said)

My "CTS Turbo" CP's fit just fine!
Only issue is I had to loosen (to raise) the rear engine cover mount - grommet/nipple (can be seen in between the pipes in the photo) so there wouldn't be any fitment / rubbing issues. Cheers!

I would imagine most, if not all, of the silicone charge pipes would have no fitment issues.

+1. The ESS Silicone Charge Pipes are the best fitting we've seen.

I ended up cutting my CF Dinan airbox to make the charge pipes fit better. I also unscrewed the mounting nipple to be able to mount the cover.
But charge pipes are overrated. The only reason you replace them is to prevent cracking. Yes they are round throughout but they all have the same tiny bottleneck as the stock ones. |

Beautiful finish but fit had to be adjusted. It's super easy to cut the corner of the air box |

Another +1 for ESS. They went on without issue and they even include a slightly taller engine cover socket to give extra clearance for the engine cover 😉
