Well, my 2016 had 18's with the standard passive suspension. To be honest, that set up translated to be a harsher set up than the 20's with the active suspension set to sport.

I find the ZCP suspension overall to be a much nicer, more composed and refined ride. I was worried about the 20's and I'm thrilled to report those concerns were unfounded.

I'm not looking for a race car. I want a nice, practical sports sedan that handles great, is somewhat sophisticated and doesn't scream boy racer (hence the alpine white over black leather).

I couldn't be happier with my car, and as far as bang for the buck it can't be beat.
Sure, make me regret not getting the 666'ers! BTW great post.

Congrats on the ZCP! I work at BMW and have driven the ZCP. I financed a 16' non-ZCP M3 with adaptive suspension and 18's when there was no ZCP option so it is what it is. I can say that stock vs stock the ZCP is the clear winner hands down. There shouldn't even be a discussion about it.

That is certainly the impression I get. Thanks for helping to substantiate my claim to the naysayers.

I recently purchased aftermarket wheels so I traded out my 666m for some 437m and cash. I saw no point in storing the beautiful 666s.

Anyway Ive been driving on the 437s for about a week now and I can tell you the nvh difference between them and the 666m is microscopic. Definitely not enough of a reason to not buy ZCP.

I'll bet the 437's ride is quiet next to those loud 666'ers, right?

Nope. Pretty much the same. The only excessive cabin noise Ive had in this car was before my diff was recalled and fixed.

Love hearing all the different thoughts on ZCP. I'll be doing it for 2018 but I've been reading all the comments. Funny how some say it's almost no difference, and others say it's huge. Even major reviews agree it's significant...

The Competition Pack takes the slack out of standard car, and the waywardness, too. It’s purer and more focused, usefully sharper and no less refined to live with.

I reckon it’s borderline transformative, the car the M3 always should have been.

That last line... "the car the M3 should have been" is pretty significant... makes it sound like the ZCP was game changing!

Anyway, I don't really care for the 666 wheels (yeah, personal thing), and I feared the cleaning of them would be difficult and that seems pretty unanimous. I just don't know why they won't offer the 437's in regular Silver vs only the black with ZCP... makes no sense at all.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments. Great reads.
The only thing I will add is that the earlier M3 builds do not have the benefit of multiple firmware updates, so it is not entirely clear how much changed from late 2016s to the ZCP. Many reviews are of the first M3s with the older firmware.

That being said if I was to purchase today I would get the ZCP just with the 19's. The price is not significant enough to pass up on any incremental upgrades.

Geez...Somewhat surprised with the wider tire & all. Have you seen pics of the blackish 666 due this summer?? Those are tempting.

Q2 Gyeon for 666s

Had the 666s treated with Gyeon Q2 Rim, bought a set of 3 wheel woollies and they are now an absolute doddle to clean. Foam the car and just quickly agitate the wheels with the woollies and rinse...perfect sparkle...job done...maximum a couple of minutes per wheel and no more labor intensive than anything else I've owned.

Yea no real diff in ride from my 18" winters to the 666 wheels for me either. Road noise is a bit higher.

Even the 20" tires have pretty thick sidewalls comparitavely. They are taller than a 225-245/35/19 tire which are super common on other cars.

What's your suspension setup?, disregard, saw it in your FS thread. Good luck with the sale
