Wow it would cost me $4,000 more to get a M3 over a S6 with similar options, that's insane BMW. I know they are different sized cars but still a M3 should not be priced this high, should have made more options standard.

I saw that as I was reading through the specs and had a good laugh. The V6 hype haunts us like a ghost. Guess we may never live that down. Brilliant marketing move by the M chief.

Also for those wondering about listed curb weight, I think that includes the normal 149.91lbs driver and 15.43lbs of luggage, so it looks like an M3 sedan with 6MT will be 3,375lbs with 90% fluids.
Ah, but it does not change the fact that, according to BMW NA, a US spec M3 is heavier than a US spec 335i. And the M4 is only trivially lighter than the 435i. Might deserve its own thread in fact, though I suspect it would be serious drama with lots of I-told-you-so's.

Well regarding the weight, on the BMWUSA website the E92 was quoted at 3770 I believe or around there.

Also, when you go to features and specs they are showing a E92 M3...

I actually think its priced quite well, also the lease rates are quite attractive if they are accurate. I was pricing a 991S the other day and with the discounts you can get on them plus a few K out of pocket you can get a 2yr. lease down to $1100 per month. The M3/4 according to the website have some pretty attractive leases off the bat. Give it a year or so and you can probably get a few k off of MSRP to even sweeten the kitty.

Nope, 3704 lb. This is a screen grab from the brochure but the website matched the brochure.

looks like the cloth interior actually gives you leather on the sides of the seat, bolsters AND on the door armrest..

so correct me if i'm wrong, the extended leather just makes the whole seat leather?

First off they still use e92 M3 pic under specs lol

But more important as many of us predicted there is virtually no weight loss especially with dct which is almost 75 pounds heavier than outgoing dct. A true example of the benefit of high rpm power as you don't need as heavy parts of drive train.

Curb listed for M3 3585 vs 3700 listed for e92. Basically 100 pounds. Those weights are with driver, 5 gallons fuel, luggage etc so knock off 180-200 pounds for true weight.

I think they marketed the heck out of the 300 pound weight saving but 100 pounds frankly isn't much. Take out back seats in e92 M3 and get rid of the tire repair kit and you save 100.

However clearly power is way under rated and will likely dyno at wheels 400 HP. Which is huge hugs leap over e92 that did 340-350. So this thing will bexa rocket and right nose to nose with cat less, tuned e92 m3

Anyone else find gear ratios odd? First gear dct in f80 is significantly more aggressive than e92 which will make 1st useless given low end torque of 400. E92 was almost over in a blink with 295 torques and less aggressive gearing. 2nd , 3rd and 4th are signicantly more aggressive in e92 ( about 15-17 percent shorter) which about equalizes relative lack of engine torque. Weird first her choice for f80
