NY State inspection and Tint, Need Help!!!

You never said what tint you have.
It will be easier for you to get your shop to pass you if you have a "lighter" tint.

In NY (as it has always been) you can have 70% or less which equates IMO to no tint.

In NY the only legal tint on a sedan or coupe would be on the rear windshield, so as long as there are rearview mirrors.

Otherwise the subtle tint on the factory glass (70%) is the limit on the front and rear side windows

Go to Cuomo's office and ask him to inspect your car for $11 after you take a look at his blacked out, tinted truck.

No reputable shop will pass the tint.

NY State is cracking down on shops that pass cars with tint. Best course of action is finding a shop that will install it again at a discounted rate.

Where's your source? Do you own a shop? Are you family members with a owner of shop? Good friends?

My bet is you'll answer no to each question.

Plenty of shops just search or drive around. Most people keep these type of things quiet.

Ask the person who installed your tint. They should have a connect. But yeah have to keep things on quiet for real lol.

I just ran into this issue with my Accord (had 15% all around). Cuomo the blood sucking parasite continues to out do himself. I believe shops are subject to a $10k fine, losing license, and something else. I know a shop that was accused of passing a single car with tint (trooper pulled car over, saw new inspection sticker, and went after inspection shop). The shop got audited after that- wasn't nice at all from what I heard...
