as long as you got good traction tires, then you should be okay.

I think having a narrower setup would be a better idea on the rear.255/35 19 square would work on your 9's & 10's.

I've been given the following options (255/35/19 square set-up):

Conti WinterContact TS830P
Bridgestone Blizzak LM32
Michelin Pilot PA4
Pirelli W240 Sottozero II 96V XL
Dunlop Wintersport 3D 96V XL
Pirelli W240 Sottozero II 92H RFT XL

I had the Dunlops for my 135i a few years back and they were fine but i appreciate this is a different car. I know this is tough to answer but what would you guys hedge on as an overall good performance tire? (Let's say primarily for dry/wet roads and the occasional bad snow day).

I went with the LM32's for both my M4 and my wife's X3 as I have good Experiance with Bridgestone winter tires in the past in Toronto winters.

I would say Michelin PA4 is the better choice, given your parameters

Conti WinterContact TS830P - good traction, quiet but a bit too soft on the sidewall, thus squirming feel going around corners
Bridgestone Blizzak LM32
Michelin Pilot PA4 - used recently - pretty good traction but wears fast due to soft compound. No issue up to about 15cm of snow
Pirelli W240 Sottozero II 96V XL
Dunlop Wintersport 3D 96V XL - good traction overall. 4D is out this year and improvement over 3D
Pirelli W240 Sottozero II 92H RFT XL

I went with the Blizzak LM-32 245/45R18. Tires coming in Monday and will go test the 18" rims on Monday night. Will let you all know progress.

If anyone else is interested, this set up is from Steelcase Tires and Mags.

Talk to Dave or Jimmy.

Cheers.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys, do you think that running 255 on the rear 19in rims will be stretching the tire or do you think that it'll be fine.

A 10" rim is an acceptable width for a 255 according to the tire manufacture specs.

Why sad buddy? You get to enjoy this baby for the full year.

Get to do donuts and drift on snow, no damage to tires but all the same fun
