I ran the exact same laptimes at road atlanta and sebring with and without a tune. I never had reliability issues even in the middle of the summer in florida, but the throttle response was entirely too artificial. Combined with the huge increase in torque it made for a pretty interesting time. The car was just too eager to spin the tires. Sport felt like Sport++ and comfort felt like Sport+. This was an off the shelf ess tune. Maybe bootmod3 allows all that to be adjusted to your liking? I don't really know.

Long story short. I had a tune with one of the two popular options (I won't answer which one) on the board these days. Ran the tune on the track with the drivetrain malfunction popped up.

Worried the hell out of me. After some ordeal, put the tune away completely (don't ask me how) and ran another track day with everything stock (with K&N drop-in) and no problem since.

With the tune, I improved close to 2 sec on Laguna Seca but my increased confidence level at the track also played a role as it was my first time out with the car there.

Not sure what's wrong with the tune as no one could figure it out (or maybe they knew something that did not tell me).

Just make sure you have a good SA to work with in case something like this happens in between unless you do not care about having a warranty on the car.

I did not have a good experience, but hope yours will be a better one. Have fun!

Actually there are quite a few guys out there running a tune on tracks, but most of them do not want to discuss this on an open forum.

I tracked all last year on JB4, no issues.

I'm running bootmod3 flash tune now, will be tracking this spring and summer. No seat time yet, but I don't expect any issues.

OP: do NOT "upgrade" the radiator unless you datalog some heat problem. The car has fantastic cooling systems stock, and I truly believe most of the current aftermarket solutions are actually a downgrade from stock. If you don't know that something is causing a bottleneck, why would you change it? There are not many (any?) reports of the stock cooling system being inefficient on track cars. There are some small use cases to do so for the top-end 1/4 mile cars, but that's all I've seen.

Have a BMS stage 1 piggy back on mine. Threw a code when I accidentally bounced off the limiter in 4th gear and the car went into limp mode. I pitted and cleared the code and the car ran fine for the rest of the weekend. I've done a few HPDEs since I've installed it and thats the only time I've had a problem. I would assume the car would not have thrown the code had the tune not been present.

No problems with my JB4 on track. I usually run map 1, map 2 on the street.
