So I spoke to someone who works for a car dealership in management. He said even though I traded in a car (guess it doesn't matter if it's a lease or finance, still traded in car that has a payoff amount), and ordered a car, as long as I didn't sign a contract, I legally have every right to back out of the deal, as I didn't purchase the car yet. Right to riscisson?
No, I do not wish to put the dealership in a negative situation (I am a business owner as well). But, I was told by the sales manager, that the only way to back out of this deal, is to buy my car back, which is currently for sale on their lot. Which I thought was complete horseshit when he told me this, but this conversation took place when I had zero clue as to my current legal situation regarding this, so I didn't respond, as I thought this was my only option. And apparently, in the state of Colorado, legally, dealerships have to refund deposits, even if they say it's non-refundable? I don't like to be given false information and lied to, so if this is true, I guess I'll have to have a conversation with a general manager, or someone higher up. In any case, as I'm getting this sorted out, I'll continue to have this order up here. Any questions, let me know. Thanks guys Last edited by Mr Pete; 02-14-2017 at 06:28 AM.. |

That's what I am trying to get legal info on now. I didn't want to cancel and put a business in any adverse situation, but please don't lie to me. If he (sales manager) did, then I'll have to seek counsel for advice prior to approaching the dealership.
