What Quick Detailer do you use on your ceramic coating? (Opticoat, CQuartz, etc)

What's everyone using as QD for those who got coatings on their car?

Here's my experience:

Since opticoat plus was applied on my car, my normal go to QD was producing streaky finishes (Meguiar's Ultimate QD). I was told by my Detailer that I don't need it, but found I needed something to touch up water spots since I have very hard water.

I tried Optimum Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer and Sonax Brilliant Shine detailer. Both were better than Meguiar's - but still had issues with streaking or having slight hazing. From what I read, the coating does not like additional layers and will not readily bond with the surface. After reading more into the coating, I read a suggestion that using the Optimum No Rinse as a QD does the trick. It's basically a stronger solution than what you would use for a wash.

Results? The ONR QD produced a better shine and gloss. The surface also seems attract less dust. The other QDs would attract dust after 1 day in the garage and seem to stick. After 1 day with ONR, the dust was less and what was there would blow right off.

It took me a while to figure this out, so I thought I would share.

What's a detailing thread without a picture right after a good wash?

I use Adam's quick detailer - no issues as yet with streaking, great stuff!

What about CQ Reload: http://www.autogeek.net/cquartz-reload-spray.html

It says it removed water spots and also applies a little additional ceramic coating.

My understanding is that Reload is made specifically to enhance and repair CQuartz coating. I spray on Reload while the car is still wet, then dry by section. But I only use it every couple of months, use Adams Detail spray the same way every other time. Adams is safe for all coatings.

Just to be safe, I'd suggest that if your car is coated with something other than CQ, I'd check to see if you can use Reload on it.

I've been using Adam's Detail spray prior to getting CQ done. Corey at Carpro-us said the Adam's should be fine on CQ, but also mentioned they had good results with Ultima waterless wash.

I'm planning on sticking with Adam's for now. Will wash with Reset and use Reload periodically.

Not all QD are created equal, some will leave a light haze, some won't. Just buff with a clean microfiber towel after applying.
I have been using Meguaiars last touch with great results and after diluting with destiled water a gallon goes a long way. Not need to overpay for Adam's .

I would second that one Kenotek Showroom Shine is what we have used on just about every coating and it is a wonderful product!

Some people say that applying QD to your coating could degrade it. What has your experience been? I guess using Guard & Gloss would be overkill?

I have been using Griot's Garage Speed Shine for a couple of years on both light and dark paints and am very pleased with the results every time. Leaves a smooth as glass finish with no hazing. Actually works good on the glass too.

Use reload with CQ
use liquid crystal with Gtechnique
use M2blast with Modesta
use cure with Gyeon

If your coating company has a maintenance spray, its probably for a good reason. Use what they suggest. Not all products are compatible with different manufactures of coatings as the chemical make up is different. (unless its a relabeled brand)

Biggest part to no streaks will be your towel. Get/use quality towels only.

ECH2o Concentrate, from the people who make Cquartz:

https://www.carpro-us.com/latest-pro...te-17oz-500ml/

Honestly, this stuff is awesome. Works great as a waterless wash (I was always afraid to do this, but I took the plunge with this stuff and was quite impressed). And of course it plays completely nice with Cquartz, HydrO2, etc.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed

Detail spray on coating

It is not that it degrades the coating, only that some detail sprays can (gum up) the coating, for lack of a scientific term. Meaning that the coating will take on the characteristics of the detail spray. If you have a spray that is high carnauba content, then this could cause the coating to not react as it used it. This can usually be remedied with an alkaline pre-wash (Nanolex Pre-Wash) and then use a dedicated safe coating soap. That should bring you back to neutral or just the coating.

This is why it is recommended to use the coating manufacturer's detail/maintenance spray.

I just used PolishAngel Glasscoat Cosmic Spritz on a BSM and all I can say is WOW. I've used many high quality products and this one stands out beyond anything I tried in the last 7 years. Check this stuff out!!

The one detail spray that I have used on coatings is the Kenotek Showroom Shine. I have not seen any negative effects from it.

I've used many of the ones mentioned here, and nothing helps with dust... I'll try the OP's recommendation as I never used ONR.

But after much experience, the best QD is a bubble wrap for the car
