What's the going rate for an MPE

Just ticked over 666km and already feeling like this zcp needs more sound

So what's the going rate for a new MPE these days?

Anyone have a hook up for a good deal? I'm melb based

I got quoted by the same person from BMW 4 months apart 6.800 (when I was ordering the car) and 9.200 (on delivery). Didn't really matter I got the akropovic full exhaust system in the end.

what's the akra evolution with the midpipe cost locally?

I think it was 9.5 new.

(both Akras include your choice of carbon fibre or titanium tips. I can sell either Akra without tips cheaper but don't publish this price to avoid confusion).

Whilst exhausts are subjective, for what it's worth I've heard lots of them and definitely prefer the Akrapovic Evolution system. It has the deepest tone and removes a touch of harshness that some other exhausts exhibit particularly in the higher revs. The fact it's full titanium and offers larger diameter piping throughout is a bonus.

fyi dealer rrp in melb was $8.5 for mpe + ti tips

have booked car in to get this done next week, looking forward to sorting the sound - my only gripe with this car so far

just had the mpe fitted on my zcp

i can genuinely say this has totally sorted the sound issues with this car - the zcp burble + mpe note gives the car the theatre it needs

there is now enough burble and overall volume to overpower the speaker sound, and you can actually hear the exhaust noise coming from behind you

the note itself is alot more exotic, and you can now hear a noticeable difference in the tone as you increase revs - the stock exhaust to me sounded very monotone

the cracks and burble are available upon varying throttle loads and rpm, and it just overall makes the drive more entertaining imo when getting on/off throttle stringing corners together

I bought my MPE second hand from a guy in Sydney for $3000. Then i bought the carbon tips which cost $1850 for 4 of them. So it ended up costing me $4850.

domino_z, how do you find the ZHP+MPE compared with your RS3?

One of the major issues I have with my X5M has been how toned down the exhaust is from the cabin. Had been considering the Eisenmann Race which brings things to life somewhat.

At a recent M Club meet I heard a Stock LCI, ZHP (no MPE), LCI MPE and ZHP Akra side by side - the Akra won however the LCI MPE was right up there with it (the car was tuned). The ZHP (no MPE) sounded good, but couldn't match the Akra.

No comparison, that Audi 5 cylinder is one of the best sounding engines on the market at any price point - the other is the v8 f-type so the m3 wasn't off to a good start

But I will say the zcp + mpe is as good as you're ever going to get this engine to sound imo

I installed the cg precision valve controller to force valves open at touch of a button and that makes it sound even more characterful below 4K rpm
