What would you get to replace your F80 M3 / F82 M4?
I have enjoyed owning my F82 M4 for over 2 years and plan to keep it for at least another year before moving on.
What make & model would you consider to replace your F80 M3 / F82 M4 with? |

Nice list. Personally I would only consider the 718 if they fit a flat-6 but interested to try the turbo 2.5L.

Re: AMG Exhaust Notes They sound so good! BMW needs to do something drastic with the tuning of the exhaust note. So far I have only heard aftermarket exhausts that make the bad factory sound louder... |

I had the old model TTRS (with an APR tune to 400hp) - they're a great car - VERY quick point to point, but they're not an engaging car to drive - you don't have a smile on your face when driving it quickly. Reviews so far with the new model point to a similar experience.
A bit left of field - have you considered the Lotus Evora 400? They're getting rave reviews all around the world at the moment - it got second place in R&T's performance car of the year too. Sounds great, goes great, looks great. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...r-of-the-year/ |

1) Looks awkward to me 2) The interior looks more like a car from the 90's 3) I don't know where all the money goes. 4) Saw a green V6 Exige S recently and that looked pretty stunning. |

It's too loud on cold start, but it's pretty good otherwise. I got my wife to take the M4 for a drive and followed her - it sounded really quite good. I get lots of positive comments people and recently from a friend in a Cayanne GTS. It's a bit too raspy for my liking, but with the JB4, I can keep the flaps closed permanently (except cold start). It's personal preference, many of my friends don't like the AMG sound they all sound too similar and just like a typical V8. The M4 now sounds a bit more exotic. Oh, and I have unplugged Active Sound and that's much better too. |

I'd like to get into a Porsche, preferably a GT4 or GT3, but the M3 still amazes me everyday. Love the car. I need to drive a GT4 to get a feel for it as it's near closer price range rather than a GT3. That should be a few years from now though.

I just sold my V6 Exige - they're cracking little car - but a bit too extreme for any sort of daily duties.
Re: Interior - the new ones are much better. Do yourself a favour - before you rule them out - go take one for a spin |

Evora: I took an early model Evora for a spin (non-supercharged) but wasn't that excited about it. Exige: The V6 Exige was a lot more exciting but unfortunately it's more of a one trick pony. Re: Porsche 991.2: Wouldn't be able to stretch to a new Carrera S (considering I would want to add about 25K-30K worth of options) 718: Turbo 2.5L (4-cylinder) Cayman S is in my budget (including the "necessary" options) but the critics all favour the old N/A flat-6 versions. Has anyone here driven one? |

The sound coming from the turbo is different - you get the AMG crackle and you don't get the same mechanical, linear increase in loudness as the revs climb. That being said, the 718 with sports exhaust sounded AMAZING. Furthermore, the front end turn in is significantly better. The brakes on the 981 were also fading, but the person who was driving the car before me may have been pushing it harder. I know the 718 base got the 981 S brakes and the 718 S got the 911 Carrera brakes. Also, I was told by a Porsche dealer last week that at some track in Australia they beat a 981 GT4 lap time with a 718 Cayman S. Whilst the sound of the turbo engine is NOT the same as the N/A, it is amazing. Do not listen to the Youtube reviews who all say it doesn't sound good because they're wrong. Also to put it into perspective, I also drove / heard from the other side of the track the 911 Turbo S (again, not sure if sports exhaust) and the 718 sounded more bad ass. |

BLKKM4 - 718 is actually a very fun car! turbo spools and sounds are great inside the cabin and although the "poor mans Porsche" interior has a really nice feel and look to it. Driving position is a bit tight - pedals for brake and accelerator also very close together bit awkward to drive on a day to day basis if you have big feet.
For me - would be Edition 1 C63s AMG - yellow stripes and the "frozen" silver paint is stunning and engine noise fantastic. |

F80 is mainly a daily loud hauler for me
coming from an rs3 serving that daily role, i'm definitely eyeing the next gen rs4 as a possible replacement in 12-24 months |
