Nope - 10 days into M3 ownership after I changed my order from M4 to M3.
Considered M2 also - I have no regrets.

I owned a Dinan Stage 2 M235i... although not the M2 I would not consider trading my 17 ZCP for the M2. Once I got past the driving the car felt too small for me and when not beating on it the interior was not much to look at. I'm also liking the modification potential of the S55.

Trade for an M2, no. I'd consider adding an M2 for rowdy yet basic transportation.

One thing to consider (in case you haven't already) is the size of the M3/4.
Even though the weight of both cars is very similar, the M4 to me feels like a very big car. This makes placing it on the road a bit more tricky than an M2 is. I've had smaller cars my whole life (Currently own an S3 Sedan as well), but TTRS, Lotus Exige V6 S, Evo, WRX etc etc, and the bigger nature of the car will take a bit of getting used to. Interior wise (Where you spent all your time), as others have said, the M4 feels like a MUCH more expensive car than the M2. I'd also say that the compliance of the suspension, even though it's probably stiffer on the M4 ZCP is better than in the M2. I'm guessing that's probably to do with the $$$ extra in the adaptive suspension. I wouldn't switch to an M2 though, as the points above are what I care about - this is a daily, so quality of interior and compliance is important. Cheers, matt |

No. Lack of customization options is a deal killer. It's a nice car, but just not special enough. I get that it's built to a price, but I wanted to built it the way I did. Can't do that in the 2.

No for a lot of reasons, one being I'm 6'4" and appreciate more room of the F80, two being the uprated interior, three being the performance. I don't see the M2 weighing significantly less to make it worth moving down to a physically smaller size.
I'd be curious to see how much the N55 in the M2 is underrated. We obviously know the S55 is about 40hp under reported, but doubt the slightly breathed on N55 would be hiding that much. |

I like the flexibility of having a 4 doors sedan. I will stick on my F80 for a while.

I'd consider an M2, but I don't fit in one with a helmet on.
FWIW, I maintain the lap times thread in the track section and have recently allowed M2 owners to post times there since their board is kind of slow. Very comparable M2 times to M3/4, pretty much a drivers "race" between the two platforms as far as I can tell so far. Why so close in times? If I had to guess, I'd say the M2 might be a little easier to drive closer to its limit than the M3/4. The M2 should be a really nice car for the average track junky.

To be absolutely accurate both dynos had to be done on the exact same equipment with the exact same conditions which I would think is not the case. So .... imo no 100% accurate conclusion can be drawn from these numbers. |

No. Love my M4, interior of the M2 seems like a huge downgrade.
