M3 CS Lime Rock Grey
Bought an M3 CS 2 months ago I have enjoyed it a lot so far. Now that I have had it for some time I decided to do a video talking about it, spec and impressions. I did a similar one with the f10 m5 a year ago so went ahead with another one. On a side note, I have seen very few videos about it that are comprehensive apart from the one on BMW Blog which is very detailed. This car is like a hidden gem. When I have brought it up to meets everyone thinks its a regular m3 and I always have a good time explaining the differences even to some bmw owners. Hope you guys enjoy the video. Let me know if you like it or hate it.

Overall nice video, but found a few inaccuracies.
1.) the center console is plain plastic and not CFRP 2.) Carbon Ceramic brakes aren't made for the track and are not the same as the F1 Carbon Carbon brakes. Common misconception that most people have. 3.) The engine code is S55 and not S65 as you referenced. The S65 is the 4.0l V8 that was equipped in the e9X M3s. 4.) Lastly, you said body roll is noticeable. I believe you were trying to say there is little or no body roll. |

Speaking of inaccuracies:
3.) The OP did state very early on in the video that the engine is the S55 together with its power & torque figures, so he is well aware what engine the car has and the S65 he mentioned later on is simply a slip of the tongue. 4.) He didn't say the body roll is noticeable. I think he said it's "barely noticeable". |

Everyone wants to be a YouTube star.
It's 7L of engine oil dude which makes it .5L more than the non-CS/GTS engine due to the magnesium oil pan repurposed. It also increases the lateral and longitudinal g-force limit to 1.4g. From what I don't know as BMW tech docs don't mention the base/comp threshold. Also, most F8Xs come with a CF driveshaft. It's like maybe one year or less where some F8Xs were outfitted with a regular steel unit due to PF requirement. Enjoy your CS. It is highly underrated present day. M4 CS is even more special with the recycled CF fiber door panels and the stupid expensive and rare OLED rear lights. Let's not forget about the E46 CSL inspired CFRP rear trunk lid on all M4s. |

Hey, thanks for the tips everyone. To be honest I am not trying to be a youtube star. I have a full time job and do the videos as a hobby since I enjoy cars a lot
I know it’s the s55, i just said it wrong in that part of the video. And yes I did say barely noticeable. I do know that early f8x had CF driveshafts. But later versions do not. Just stating that the CS had one. Thanks on the 7L and CFRP center console. I was wrong on those. But not so far off on the 7qts since 7L is 7.3qts jeje. Will be more comprehensive and accurate for future videos. Definitely a lot of growth for me ahead. Thanks! Last edited by Mtr3sto; 08-15-2022 at 09:09 AM.. |

Typically, only racing teams run CCBs because they replace them frequently. So, the BMW CCBs are great, and can be used infrequently on the track, but if you are going to do monthly events you'd be better off with steel rotors.

Thank you Ex Stig…I figured it was a cost thing. Technically, carbons are superior to steel if cost isn't important.
To be honest, the guys running a m4 or m2 at a track and have a Maclaren, Porsche or Ferrari at home probably aren't concerned with burning up $10k in brakes. |

Cool video, keep up the good work.
One thing you missed - the hidden 12v socket under the glove department is deleted on the CS. Last edited by csboi; 09-15-2022 at 07:34 AM.. |

Update on the car: Bought it back in may. It was stock. Changed front tires to MPS4S 265s. It was on MPSS 255s. Rears already were on MPS4S 285s. Added 10mm spacers at the front and 12mm spacers at the rear. The car was recently paint corrected and had full front and roof PPF applied. I ceramic coated it after.
