small pits/chips
With this winter season, its impossible to avoid small pits/chips in the northeast. On a lease return, are these an issue or considered wear and tear? There's no scratches or cracks or bull's eye type marks. Just those small dot pits. Thanks!

I'm assuming you are talking about the windshield. I swear BMW used some thinner than normal glass this time around.
I've never had so many little pits so fast. |

It really depends on if you are getting another car from BMW when you turn in your lease and how noticeable the damage is. My first 328 had major curb rash and some other scratches and BMW didn't say anything. My second one had a scratch on the door that was visible and again BMW didn't say anything. My 435 just had a small chip on the windshield that is exactly at the eye level of the driver, but again they didn't say anything.
My sister and brother in law turned in their cars and didn't get a new BMW and they were really picky about small cosmetic damages the cars had. I would say don't mention or point out any chips your windshield has and most likely they will not even say anything. |

Acceptable Cracks or stars that are outside of the driver’s wiper arc and within the inner circle of the Evaluator are acceptable (up to two occurrences). Surface chips in the driver’s wiper arc are acceptable. So these would be considered "surface chips"? |
