That when using comfort access to open the car it opens when it detects your hand on the inside of the handle.

Different to my previous car where you had to pull the handle to unlock the car.

You can also lock the doors by placing your finger on the textured stripes on the handle!

I guess this is a silly question considering the title of this thread....but do you guys NOT read the owners manual when you buy a new car? Like from cover to cover, on the first night of ownership, to discover all the fascinating things your new car will do that perhaps you couldn't learn from mere trial and error. No? OK. Proceed.

Crazy there are people who dont huh. I am one of those that does as well. In fact, I usually download the manual before buying a car to learn things in advance.

Many of the details listed on this thread are not in the manual.

Coded "fold side mirror" on lock via comfort access. You have to place finger a little longer to activate it! I thought it happens randomly lol

Me too. It sucks that they don't put out PDF manuals anymore

Go to www.bmwusa.com tap/click myBMW on the top right, create account, download PDF manual.

Edit; this probably won’t work, but...

If you dig long enough you can get to manuals for your cars, but it doesn't have a way to download PDF's for a car you don't have a VIN for.
I wonder if the website will notice if more than one person "claims" a car?

Edit: I went ahead and added a car I test drove since I got the build sheet (and VIN) for it and... no videos or owners manual shows up.

That is the reason I coded the seat convenience access, where the seat moves back when I open the driver’s door and moves forward to the set position when the door is close

This also very true. Particularly about features that can be activated through coding.

Have you had any problems with water drops moving between the handle and door? For me car can unlock itself if a rain drop is moving in that area (and of course I need to be nearby! )

When setting your "m1" or "m2' settings - no need to go into the navi system to do it. I set "throttle", "steering" & "traction" to where I want (No EDC - I have V3s) and just leave my finger on M1 or M2 for 3 seconds and it sets where you want it, emitting a short beep/chime.

This is great when experimenting with modes on the fly while driving. The only thing you need to mess with in the Navi is the HUD setting.

YEAH!#!#@!#!@#

Climatronic

Turning on Heater at 77 F first warm air turning into cold air after a few minutes. Increasing to max blows hot air. AC off. 77F should never be cold. Will play with it for a while.

Also depends on your fresh air circulation wheel (the red/blue dial under the door lock button)

+1 to the suggestions that the Mode dial wheel on the steering wheel changes the radio station and sound source, and that the numbered shortcut buttons on the dash can go for any car function.

Those two alone have changed my driving quality immensely! Had no idea, just been assuming only volume control on the wheel and surfing through iDrive menus for everything else.

Ha, just learned that putting your finger on any of the preset buttons (without pressing it) will list the button presets on the top of the screen. Neat!
