Do you still love your F80 M3?
F80 owners out there... How have you liked your M3 over time? Ok daily driver including winters?
If I buy this car it will be my 4th BMW in less than a year. I have tried other brands but keep coming back to BMW. Never had an M3 before but I seem to get bored of cars quickly ha ha. I want something I can enjoy for a couple years. Any feedback would be great!!!

I second this ^
Have any of these BMW's been M models? I'm assuming not. IMO, an M adds a level of enjoyment that you just don't get with a typical BMW. Having said that, if you're bored with a regular model after 4 months, an M might bore you after 8. You might need a Ferrari |

Not sure if compromising the X drive for fun is worth on the daily driver. I am living in Alberta Canada so we can get a lot of snow here. Don't want to have to buy 2 cars either ha ha. Thanks for any feedback.

But it's gonna be super awesome when spring rolls around. I have 42,000 miles on my M3 and I adore every moment of it. Especially since you can just modify your car in increments and never get bored. |

If you have to ask........
I'm going out on a limb here, but if you have gone through what you have in a year, kept coming back to BMW from other brands and are just now realizing you might be interested in an M3, you will probably not be satisfied with the car for the long term.
I would recommend in your case leasing one, have fun with it and move on to your next interest. It'll cost you, but you can say you tried it. I personally have enjoyed every mile of my 2016 LCI SSII M3 since picking it up on December 5, 2015. I do not see my penchant for this car waning anytime soon.

I have had M3s for 11 years in Chicago as a DD. No problem with a good set of winter wheels and tires.
Only missed 2 days of driving in those 11 years with over 20" of snow on those days. Had to borrow the wife's Lexus. M3 is a blast in the winter! No worries |

I can imagine how fun it is. Do winter tires really perform? I have no experience with it. Really curious to try it someday. |

Other than that driving my 11 mile commute to work is no problem and I get to have some low speed fun while doing so

love it.
I can only speak about the cars i've driven, but it is the best car by far. even my x5m cannot compare with it in terms of engine responsiveness, dct, and handling. the only demerit is the sound, the m3 is a special car to me.

Have an M3, and bought a 15 traded it for a 16. Would buy it again.
Sometimes I get a regular 3 and had a 550 M Sport once, completely different experience, no comparison to my M3, would not buy those cars per sé. |

I can give you the perspective of a former owner, sold mine after 2 years of ownership.
It's a great car that I miss each and every day. Havent really driven it in a month as it was being prepped for sale but there is definitely a void in my life without a fun car. The good news is that I get to start looking for a new car. The bad news is that I cant actually buy one until my industry starts to recover, hence the early sale. Its the most expensive car I've ever owned, but it was also the best.

Gentlemen I appreciate all the feedback and understand the criticisms. X-drive for winter considerations has been my biggest hang up and believe I may have to get over that.

I went from x drive 335 F30 to my F80 and I don't miss it. Granted it's Belgium not Alberta but it's not SoCal either..

Its a great car, even on snow it's a lot of fun due to the active M differential. Though on short distances I use my wife's Cooper S

I've had mine for 2 years - averaging 18k miles per year - drive it year-round and on track several times. Other than issues with brake judder (which have now been successfully addressed) no mechanical issues whatsoever.
The best part is - I still look forward to driving this car every single chance I get - not even coming close to getting bored with this car after 2 years and 36000 miles of daily driving! |
