Suntek window tint

Thoughts on suntek carbon or carbon XP to give a black finish

On my 16 M did formula 1 pinnacle and was pretty happy.

Would like to know your views on suntek tints on their looks and quality and which one u went for ?

If you’re after the highest quality tint with superior heat rejection, resistance to fading and glare reduction a proper ceramic film is your best best. I’m somewhat familiar with SunteK CXP and Carbon XP and I’m not a fan. I would suggest looking at Photosync, CeraLuxe, Stratos, to name a few. If you’re not concerned with having the best you can opt for the next tier down as there are countless to choose from.

I have had plenty of tints including PhotoSync, Suntek, 3M Color Stable, 3M Crystalline, Llumar.

I don't have issues w/ PhotoSync but all Prestige products cost a premium which you should consider. 3M Crystalline has been on multiple cars of mine and it does just as well, time proven and generally doesn't cost you an arm.

F1, Suntek, Llumar Ceramic tints all work just as well if you don't want to pay a lot but get just as well.

What's the price difference of these two installed on a sedan?

3M Color Stable
3M Crystalline

On a scale of 1-10, if Crystalline is say a 9, how does Color Stable fare?

6 for me but I'm picky.

I had 3M crystalline and it was nothing special in heat rejection or looks and cost me somewhere around 550 which is pretty expensive.

Heard good things about Suntek carbon XP

My main requirement is looks and it should look black and heat rejection is almost same in all these films

If you don't live in SoCal, Florida or Texas you might not feel the difference but the difference between Suntek CIR and 3M Crystalline is noticeable. You don't lose 10% in heat rejection and not feel it.

550 is nothing if you include front windshield. PhotoSync in SoCal costs 1,200 full car.

so you pretty much stand by 3M Crystalline as best bang for the buck if you life in SFL ?

I disagree. This really isn't debatable either. Look at the technical specifications for each film. TSER, IRR, VLT, UV Protection...those metrics mean something. If you understand how they're related and what they mean it tells the story. "All these films" are not almost the same from a heat rejection standpoint. The difference between a true ceramic film and a dyed or metallized film are night and day.

Had suntek carbon on my last 3 cars which held up very well throughout the years. Just had 3M color stable applied on my current car...honestly, can't tell the difference.

Suntek also has a highest tier tint (for their portfolio) called CIR. (CeramicIR).
I have it on my F80. I have CIR 40 on all windows (nothing on front windshield).
It is, in my opinion, a very nice shade of charcoal/black. My 40% tint is not too dark, i didnt want any hassle from the cops. But i think it looks great and does offer some privacy, especially for the rear of the car for my kids. No blue hue at all in my tint.

in terms of heat rejection, this is my first time going with a "premium tint" . ... my old car had whatever tint the tint shop had that was cheap and looked OK. I would say the difference in heat is noticeable, but not as significant as I thought it would be based on what I was reading on the forums. I don't know if that's specific to Suntek CIR or if I would feel the same way with any other tint (3M, Huper, etc).

More or less yes.

Of course the price I put here varies between states but I know for certain Prestige PhotoSync will be the most expensive regardless due to how Prestige price their items so it will always be the most pricey for the top end Ceramic tints.

Carbon tints will obviously vary so that's on the person.

Ceramic tints will always out preform Carbon tints. This isn't debatable either because it is proven. By how much will depend on the product itself.

You may be right and more knowledgable than i am but based on my experience with ceramic and dyed film i could not make out the difference in Atlanta heat. I get all my cars tinted and when its 90-100 F outside all of them get bloody hot irrespective of the tints i had and my wife complains of hot cars all the time

This time i decided to go for Suntek CXP 35 black.

Thanks for all the valuable inputs guys

I had Air80 on my 16. No issues with the HUD or ghosting/halo from lights. I cannot speak to any other films on the windshield.
