i was working with a few dealers.

I had two offer me 1000 over invoice, one i wasn't sure if they'd get the allocation. one was a large dealer so i am confident they could.

I ended up going for a dealer cause i know the folks there for 1350 over invoice, why they couldn't match the price who knows, but i was done with negotiating and figured when something goes wrong they'll fix it.

... and i got the sign and drive + BMW Supplier pricing (1500 off best negotiated price)

Yes that's a very good deal! I just picked mine up Saturday and they guy said it was 1600 over invoice. Even though from my calculations it was 2900 over invoice. So yes if it's truly 1600 over you got a great deal!! Plus you got an allocation so that is worth it's weight in gold.

Thats the deal I got and what my friend also got. We are both doing ED in September. $1500 over invoice is a fair deal for both parties.

Here is a dumb question...

I am new to leasing.

Are leases more fixed as far as negotiating the price of the car, or does it work the same way as when buying?

There is a ton of negotiation.. You basically negotiate your price.. The residual is set by bmw, and mf (interest you pay) has a base rate that you may negotiate down as well if they try to raise it on you. There is a good thread on here about leasing 101. Awesome post for new to lease people

As dantm3 mentioned, there is perhaps more negotiation involved with a lease.

Negotiate as much as possible on the car and any trade in. Make sure the dealer doesn't raise the money factor (the interest you pay/bank fee) past the "buy rate". Also make sure they don't toss in any extra fees or raise the acquisition fee.

Take a look at the stickied Leasing 101 thread written by OneRib

I placed an order on 8/4 for 2016 M3. Requested date week for production is 36 confirmed for week 41. Do you guys think I get a better shot of getting a sooner production week with another dealer?

I wouldn't risk it. Just be satisfied you've already secured an allocation. Others here haven't been so lucky and are still in the hunt. Is there a reason you can't wait a few weeks?

Sounds like a decent deal, best deal I got so far was 1600 over invoice (in person)but allocations would take a few months and 2000 over invoice in emails, but 2000 over invoice the earliest allocation I'd get would be in november.. I'm trying to purchase two M4's at once within my family and I thought I'd be getting better quotes than that, but I haven't went in and negotiated anything yet.

Delivery in November or an allocation in November?

My 2016 F80 is $620 over invoice. (~6% off)

After factoring in title, tags and registration, I'll be out the door at just under MSRP.

Edit: I'm east coast and I should be going into production this Friday.

Pretty sure the dealer meant allocation in november, he said "The allocation through November has already been assigned."

What do you think? I took it as that meant I can get my allocation in november, and delivered in 6 weeks from then? I've never ordered a BMW through allocations before, so I'm new to it.. just read a lot about it in this section of the forum. The november allocation wait is killing me however, I thought more than a year after m4s were being sold the wait would be shorter

Which incentive(s) or discounts did that include?
