You would be good if there wasn't this hold. Let's hope that gets resolved before the end of the week.

I'm really worried about what the wait is going to be for my PCD... The question is how long would I be willing to wait before I bail on do a dealer delivery. The drive from the dealer is an extra 3 hours on top of an 9 hour drive!

Sounds like you have the latest! Seems like it is just held up in BMW processing. Nothing I can find says anything other than the government is ok with the cars.

yes! definitely within striking distance now!! looks like in about 24 hrs it'll be in Brunswick.

I can't remember but i think it was only 3-4 days after landing that i got my car last time. sweet!

i'm glad i'm not relying on any port-installed options as that would surely delay my car enough to make me lose my drive for team usa cash. 60 days ago i knew it would be close, but this is really coming down to the wire for me. it adds to the excitement. either way i'll have the car in the next couple weeks.

woot!

You have port installed accessories on your 2015 right? Did that hold you up your current ride for install?

nothing port installed on the '15... was going to get grilles/gills on this car but was told it may get held up and can be unpredictable as far as when they "get to it"... probably depends on how soon the car gets off, how many other cars are in queue etc. not worth the risk for me and I can easily install those things myself.

descending upon Brunswick! b'more-brunswick is a hop & a skip! i don't think it would be crazy to think cars will be unloaded by this evening or tomorrow... on the truck by tomorrow evening? sure hope so! I don't know how realistic that is but we'll see.

Was anyone on this thread dropped off in Baltimore? I wonder if the cars have been released? There was another thread saying the cars have their EPA and CARB certs but there was still some sort of hold.

I'm thinking it should be passing by here within the next hour. If anyone catches it grab a screen shot.

http://ga.water.usgs.gov/rivercam/webcam-brunswick.html

You can control the camera and if you move almost all the way to the right (between 3/4 and Full) and zoom in you can see the ship docked. There is a W&W ship docked there as well. Quality is pretty shitty from so far away so unlikely you will actually see any cars getting unloaded.

Missed it going under the bridge but caught it on the other side getting tugged into place.

Docked - you can see the "bridge" down. Resolution not good from that far away.

So happy that she is finally docked! Very interesting to read the different views on whether or not the EPA/CARB hold is still in effect.

Being the owner of a 1997 E36 M3 (bought new), I trust you will forgive my intruding with information pertaining to my 2016 435i Coupe that is on this ship; I think it will help here, and I can't find a similar thread on that forum.

I see that some folks have not been able to get a PDC date, yet my CA got an email from them on Monday offering me an 8/24 date. Does this lend more support to the notion that the EPA/CARB hold has been lifted/cleared within BMW?

On Friday I'm going to call the vehicle processing company that handles BMWs in Brunswick; perhaps they will have an accurate status.

ugh - these guys and their non-M cars!

haha kidding! 435i will be a sweet car too. a nice complement to the e36 m3 for sure.

i'm just hoping things will go smoothly. hopefully all the holds are lifted but let us know if you come up with something! i haven't searched around .. we're not the first shipment of '16s to hit the states, are we? or are we? i doubt it but i know there haven't been too many thus far. here's to keeping things moving!

For the hold...not really. Each model is tested separately so they get certified at different times. With the 435 I'm able to see more details of the certification on the EPA's site since it was certified back in May. See http://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/displa...d=35118&flag=1

I'm not able to get that document for the F8x yet. It only shows up in their spreadsheet of certified cars but not a copy of the certificate like the 435.

How it does interest me is that they are filling PCD for 8/24 with cars on this boat. Did you request a Monday or first available or what? Does that mean that if the hold gets lifted 8/24 is the earliest available or could they do something sooner if you are flexible with the days.

You beat me to it, rcw119; I found that same document after my initial post. Couldn't find anything similar for CARB certification.

Regarding the PCD date, my CA requested the first available date, so I don't believe an earlier date would be available even if the car was ready sooner. Ironically, the date is perfect because I'll be in SC the two following days on business, yet I can't do it because on the Sunday before when I should be arriving at the hotel I will instead be arriving home on a plane. So I'll take dealer delivery (maybe before 8/24) rather than an even later PCD date.

the F8xs have been released now - no more holds. My PCD is 8/27.

If your curiosity is out there for the CARB certificate...it can be found here: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/.../2016/2016.php You have to look at each BMW one to find it (probably a way to decode the file name but didn't take the time to learn)

Thanks for the CARB link, rcw119.

Here's the latest from my CA: "It is TENTATIVELY scheduled to arrive at my location next Tuesday. I can’t stress to you enough the fact that these trucks often get delayed a few days." So, no more holds. Very excited about driving my 2016 435i coupe, mineral gray metallic, oyster leather, technology package.

P.S. How do I include the originally posted text? The "Quote message in reply?" box cannot be clicked.

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean. I click "quote" in the bottom right of the message I want to quote and go from there. On my iphone I use the """ icon to do the same.
