I don't even remember I was going back and forth on different stuff with BMWNA, but then the finance committee said it was too much messing about so I said just leave it as is, but I don't remember where that was. I'd look on my VIR but, as usual, salesguy =

It's always fun to show up in Munich and be surprised!

That'll be a hoot.

I can't imagine adding ED in to lengthen this process further. I placed my order mid-June. The car should be in my garage the 2nd week October. On the bright side, it'll be a nice birthday present to myself.

ha, you did indeed. Luckily he seems stoned most of the time, so he's pretty easy going and I've learned to never count on salespeople for anything ... so as long as they build the car and he makes good on his numbers (and doesn't detail the car on pickup), I'm cool.

Hopefully anyone doing individual knows not to work with their salesperson or think their salesperson will be providing any service.

I think BMW is missing a market for people that order, and especially people that special order. Seems like it wouldn't be that tough to establish a virtual sales office "dealer" that would have a menu of prices including concierge pricing for individual ... but then the dealers would freak out.

Nevertheless, seems like we're heading that way, so maybe BMWNA should it: make the dealers service centers and showrooms and put some qualification on the virtual service: you have ordered before and/or you want individual. Put a minimum fee on it.

I'm just brainstorming, but there's a good model there that would work WAY better than horrible system now that neither dealer nor customer enjoy.

Individual is such a pain in the ass it easily becomes not worth it. Or you get to a point (finance committee or not) where you say screw it, leave it as is and submit. It's so painful going back and forth with this stuff.

To make matters worse, BMWNA stopped assisting Individual customers directly a couple of weeks ago. Somebody screwed up and they stopped all communications with customers and any requests have to go exclusively thru dealers.

Like dealers were doing a good job before anyways...

Car has finished production and been released from manufacturing and is headed to port.

The wait continues.

Hopefully you're not waiting too long.

For one of the main shipping companies, W&W, you can use this:
https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?min...ScheduleRWD%2F

For Bremerhaven -> Baltimore, I see the following boats: (date is when they dock at Bremerhaven)
9/12
9/15
9/18
9/22 (2 boats)
9/29

You can use their tracking (Cargo ID) with your full VIN number to find your car the fastest if it is on a boat.
https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage

My boat arrived to Bremerhaven on 8/24. My VIN did not show up in Cargo ID tracking until 8/25. BMW Genius confirmed my car was on a ship a few days later.

There are other companies other than W&W, so you may be on a different ship. Good luck!

I also finally got news on my car as well. Grigio Medio got approved. Car went into production 150 in September 6th.

Lower Instrument Panel and Center Console in Merino Leather in Nutmeg got approved too even though my VIR doesn't show this for some reason.

Also just as a random thing, the front leather dash for Full Leather is apparently in Walknappa leather. I know someone on the forum said before that it wasn't in Merino and I can confirm this to be true.

Usually individual options will not show up on VIR there will just be an individual block. The Individual report will show it. Ask your dealer for one or email BMW individual directly and request it (although last I heard they were making people go through their dealer so may not work).

Maria was the one who told me. I'm hands on and dislike waiting so I emailed BMW Individual and they forwarded my request to BMW NA and Maria Martine responded to me early Tuesday. She apologized for being late but confirmed it to me my Lower Instrument Panel and Center Console got approved and is in the system.

The dealership I'm working through finally came through, I think something got lost in between communications but the sales manager got back to me finally and I got my production # after not having it for a month and a half.

My Santorini M3 is pulling in to the last east cost port today before it heads to Panama and then to California on October 1st. Hurry up and wait. Those vehicle carriers put along at 20MPH.

Hopefully I'll have it in my hot little hands the week of the 8th. There's a few port-installed options that will delay it at the port a bit. My dealer is about 2 hours from the port.

Track it when to goes through the panama canal. It's like an ultrasound.

I have a Fashion Grey/Cohiba Brown Production Week 34 MY18 M3 on order. It's awaiting customs approval in Jacksonville before moving on to VPC. Hopefully it should be delivered to the dealer sometime next week. Not much else to do at this point but wait...
