2018 M3 ordered production number produced what now?

So I got my VIR and I have a production number, information for my build was submitted and color approved, at what point can I call that number you guys talk about and get a actual production date, I only have a number. I would love to know when I am scheduled for build, can anyone help?

Call BMW Genius right away and give them your Production#, they can give you whatever info they have, which will include a production week if it has been scheduled

Given by how many there are of us probably Atlantis :P But congratulations OP! But like others have said you can track it via mybmw or give Genius a call. Granted both with be actually behind in tracking by a few days at least. Best to keep in contact with your CA and or local Genius as the'll have the most up to date information. You can also check out this Thread for some helpful tips

I ordered my 2018 M3 ZCP on August 14th and tracked the entire process from build to shipping vessel. Production started a week after the order was placed and took roughly two weeks to complete the build. It then spent a month in transit to NY, then eleven days at the BMW port facility getting a few carbon accessories installed. The car was finally delivered to my dealer October 7th.

What's week 4? I placed order at same date as OP and the car is still not entered production yet.

Week 4 is the week of January 22 - 26. This week is where the build of your new vehicle should be completed.

My M3 is also set for week 4 completion and the beginning of production for her started on January 11th.

Thanks for the info. My car hasn't started production yet. So it will set for week 1 completion?

Week 1 would be the very first week of the year so that's already passed. You car should have already been completed if you were Week 1 production.

Well, called Genius a few of times, after Xmas Genius said my car was expected to be completed by Jan 9th, called on the 10th of Jan, a genius said car is not completed yet, status showed factory accepted order by the 5th of Jan, that's it.

Called my CA, he said no, car is done and has VIN now.

Just called another genius, car is on Liberty supposed to hit Oxnard on Feb 12th, I guess that's part of the fun

Placed order through dealer Jan 2nd and they gave me a production number. Added the car @ mybmw webpage but no updates yet. . ?

Call the Genius number. The website didn't have any info for me, but the Genius was really helpful.

Yes! mybmw is super slow to almost useless on info about your build. BMW genius is your only source to almost up-to-date information on your new M build.
