Placed an order in MD!

Sold the N54 335 and moved on up to an F80. Here are my specs:

M3
Alpine White
Extended Black/Shakir Leather
DCT
Black Alloy Wheels
EU Delivery.

Thats it. Cheap and cheerful. This is the second Euro deliver I am doing and use the same guy (was at passport bmw now at silver spring bmw). Good guy, let me know if anyone wants Joern's contact info. He doesn't know if it it comes out of dealer allocation yet, will let me know as soon as he finds out...obviously has pricing implications. Tentatively scheduled for end of August....Anyone else in MD/DC/VA place an order?

How exactly did you place an order when order banks are not open yet and allocations are not set?

There are couple of threads like yours and folks provided enough feedback.

Good question, TTG. They are taking 'pre orders' No confirmation numbers, etc. When I say I placed an order, its generic. When the banks open up, our pre orders will get entered into the system as a real order...or thats my understanding.

I have the first spot at my dealership in NY as well but they won't take my order till they open up and allocations come. As long as my spot is guaranteed I'm good!

By launch car do you mean dealer demos or first batch of customer orders?

I hope they didn't try to make you pay more than MSRP, given their attitude on E92s....

BMW of Rockville still has 8 E92 M3s because they wouldn't sell below MSRP in a market where people were buying close to invoice. They've had 8 since last October, lol. Then even have the same AW one that I beat on when I test drove it

I think only recently they started discounting them, but now no one is buying given the hype for the F80/2.

That's hilarious that they still have 2013s.

I checked out their website and what they are asking for those 2013s. Given that their pricing starts at $70K for a 2013 E92 M3, it's no wonder why they are sitting. Apparently BMW of Rockville is banking on that the e92 is going to be a classic someday (which I'm sure it will be) and someone will want to buy it as a collectible when the rest of the E92s have 100K miles on them.

I don't know how these guys stay in business. I suppose the few fools who shop there overpay enough to make up for the lack of volume. When you have 8 cars that are basically already 2 years old, last generation, (didn't the 2013 M3 come out early 2012?) and your pricing is what it is, don't you see the light at some point and realize that the floor space isn't producing income?

I guess if you hate the new F80/82, and don't care about price, you'll have your selection of cars at BMW of Rockville.

My dealer called me in, click off what I wanted, and then they put it into the computer so its ready to go. Assuming that's what they are talking about.

Actually what's even funnier is that the dealer went up and down the eastern seaboard gathering all the remaining M3's. His thought process was that he would be able to bank on people paying more on an outgoing model.

smh

I was over there earlier this week and saw the AW e92...I was shocked. Wonder how long they'll hold it?

The owner will fire CA's and managers if they price them correctly... It's all ownership.

Do the DC area dealerships even have allocation numbers yet? Several weeks ago, I had the guys from Sterling, Fairfax, and Alexandria spitting out their allocations for the M3 and M4 (they were all also saying they have the highest sales in the region). They were all also guaranteeing me first delivery in June/July even though i would be just 4 or 5 on their order list (depending on the dealership). I agree with the the folks on this forum that they can't make these guarantees unless they know their allocations. Anyone know if allocations are set yet in the region?
