Not wise for you if you don't have the experience or feel comfortable doing it?

But on an M3 with full tread PSS tires, that's not a problem. So many people have done euro delivery in those conditions (e.g. me), not to mention everyone in the USA who does track days in the rain

No offense to the OP, but I have never in my life ever thought I wonder what my car is going to be like in the rain. Besides, it's a function of tires more than any chassis geometry.

In my experience the Michelins are single handily the best wet traction tire I have ever used. I have gone to speeds I won't say here on them and wasn't concerned a bit or had any type of issue.

Should I go faster? lol whats your dry cruising speed 120mph?

wet/dry-- I do 80 with spurts of 90-110. crusising that fast is just a ticket to license suspension

Uh, I was referring to regular highway driving at high speeds in the rain with traffic around you. Kind of different than track driving. I drive as fast as anyone on a daily basis but I'm certainly much less aggressive in poor weather conditions and even more so in poor weather conditions in heavy traffic.

I've got the stock conti summer performance tires that came with my car and it's impossible to get decent traction from a stop when the road is wet (like 80% of the time in Seattle). Just about anyone could beat me off the line if they tried. Even with moderate throttle the tires stutter and bounce trying to grip. Really frustrating.

When actually moving it's just as good as any other car. I drove it over the mountain pass here in the winter with blizzaks when it was pouring rain and only had minor hydroplaning issues. Just don't floor the accelerator like a hooligan in poor conditions and you'll be fine.

I was referring to driving on autobahn, which is regular highway driving at high speeds in the rain with traffic around you.

I brought up track days as a way to bring a USA relevant example of driving in the rain at higher speed

Certainly shouldn't drive "Aggressive" in the rain, but can drive "fast" in the rain on full tread PSS.

These are not old style Falken RT615 tires!

I just wouldn't think someone would be scared to drive 80 in the rain with an M3 and PSS's. They are an awesome tire for wet traction. But I guess as long as any tire has tread, it's fine unless there is huge standing water.

In the rain do not turn DSC off unless you know how to control this car. Other than that, it's a great car rain or shine or snow.

When I was on the autobahn in heavy rain, people slowed down. Not many going over 130KPH.

On CSC5P and the old software it was a bitch in the rain and the brakes would really scare you, having had the car put on PS4S and the latest software it's very good.
