Yes, it would seem that it's 3v3. The FL-5 deep dish design is so much nicer, I cannot believe I made the error when ordering.

I contacted Apex yesterday and this was their response:
Thank you for your email! We appreciate your business. I see that you placed an order for SM-10 18x10 ET25 and 18x11 ET44 in Satin Black. Unfortunately, the 18x11 ET44 is only being produced in the SM-10 design, and not the FL-5. Since the 18x11 ET44 fitment is specific for the F8X M3/M4, the only option for that chassis in the FL-5 design would be the 18x10 ET25 for the front and rear. Let me know if that is something you are interested in and I can have your order updated to the FL-5 design.

If some of the other SM-10 people could be contacted perhaps we could get the switch to happen. It's only 3 people, so perhaps Apex could reach out.

Besides us two, the only other person that I know is visi107 who ordered 18x11" (he is also in this thread). His first choice was SM-10 but he mentioned to me he really didn't mind if it was FL-5.

So yeah, Apex, if you are reading this, please explore the possibility that maybe the other three people are willing to switch designs to FL-5. There is now potentially four FL-5 versus two SM-10.

To me, the FL-5 looks more like a design that a motorsports team would pick for racing, versus SM-10 would be more like an autoshow special. It's all subjective, I know.

Yes I also did go with the 18x10 and 18x11 wheels in the SM-10 design.

If you guys really want the FL-5s that badly and as long as apex is ok with it, i don't mind changing my preference to the FL-5 design.
I guess i'm the swing vote lol. is it time to track yet
So yeah, if any of you guys wants to contact apex, i'm fine with it. This post can serve as the proof that i'm good with the FL-5 design. But I do want both my fronts and rears to be the same design though.

With limited participation in this Group Buy pre-sale for the 18x11" ET44 SKU, we had to kick off the first round of production with only one of the two available designs. Once the dust settled we had 7 enthusiasts in total purchase the 18x11" ET44 application, and the SM-10 design was the clear winner.

Our team is focused on delivering wheels in a timely fashion, so keeping things on schedule is pertinent. At this stage, production has begun and it would not be feasible to make a design change.

We hope that everyone is as excited as we are to receive the latest APEX wheel designs, and appreciate those of you that were willing to make a change. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

- Ryan

I asked them for an estimate when the wheels would be shipped and they told me end of April. So I went with option one and will wait.

Hopefully no more delays.

Same question I asked. I'm probably gonna go with that too but I'm considering switching to the EC7. Cheaper and I wanna be on track end of March. But maybe I can wait one month...

So my car is here now... I need a set of 18x11s. I'm not in the group buy and these don't show on the site... (Only the ex-7)

What's the latest on when these will become real? I love the fm-5, with the lip, but the sm-10 is cool too. Want something other than a split spoke arc-8s I had on my last car.

Thank you for the comment! We are producing the 18x11 ET44 in our new SM-10 design. They are available directly on our website for pre-order at this time with a current ETA of late April. Check them out here!
