I have concern with running a 275/30R19 Michelin PSS in front. I believe that the 275/30R19 PSS is designed specifically as a rear tire and might not be optimal in terms of steering response and water evacuation. With other tire makes, it is different story .
The a big benefit of the 275/295 /35R19 setup is that you only need to buy new rear tires

Maybe. You would need to try it out to see if it rubs.
As a tidbit, I hate spacers (when they are not used to maintain the OEM offset), especially in the front, they alter the suspension and steering geometry. 5mm in the back, you probably won't feel. 5mm in front is not much, but I would not do it either.

Check this fitment out. It seems like you will be able to run spacers.
Front is 20x9 et32, plus 12mm spacer and 255/35/20. That is an even larger diameter tire than the 275/35/19. Fitment looks good, no rubbing apparently. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1099558 |

So I put about 300 miles on the car with the new wider tires. Cant be any happier, there is no rubbing at all and the car is planted. I probably get about 20% traction issues where I was getting easily 70% 1st through 3rd gear. Did some high speed runs, banking at high speeds and the car has a lot more to give.
Comfort, sport + is too harsh over bumps but sport and comfort is perfect. Steering: Sport + feels really good, steering is heavy but I like it that way and the feedback from the road is great. I highly recommend this set up, now adding Spacers all around? Perhaps the front but with 5 MM in the back there might be rubbing unless you go with 30's side wall instead of 35's. Cheers Sam |

I must have missed it, where is it stated Palomequet uses 12mm spacers in front with this 255/35R20 wheel?

Did you have to get an alignment done after the new tires?

Just wondering out of curiosity since the tires were so wide (I really don't know much about tires).
Btw, after checking my rear tires I found out I only have 4/32 left on them so I'll be ordering a pair of 285s to replace the rears before my upcoming track day in May. There's still lots of thread on my front tires so I'll be running 255-285 for the short term until the fronts wear off then I'll replace them with 265s. I'm guessing I'll have more oversteer with the 255-285 setup but performance should not be affected that much right?
