Ok, I will check on the R2. Just for my own education, is there any data out there comparing the R2 to other tires?

Super cheap, $100 after rebate.
2010 production, so 5 years old. Tires do age even when they sit. I replace my tires at year six, even if they have tread left. Personal choice. Also long out of production, so if you lose one to a road hazard, you pitch the entire set or start mixing and matching tires. That said, I'm sure they will be very capable in the frozen stuff.

I ran these on my 370Z 4 years ago. Drove in blizzards and 6 inches of snow and never got stuck or spun out. I can't say I tested the car at its limits but nonetheless I was very pleased with the cars performance that winter.

TBH I'm going off info that other reputable posters here and people I know have told me. Grussgott and gthal have rave reviews on Nokians and I've had personal experience with Blizzaks (as well as many of my friends) and I have been very satisfied. I've got two little girls that I'll be driving around so I don't want to half ass my winter tires. Mind you they are in the car no more than 15 miles of local driving a week but still.

I hear you. I will be driving kids around as well. From my research though, it does not look like they make any of the Blizzak true snow tires in the sizes we need, they only make the winter performance models like the Lm32 and LM62. The ICEX is definitely better in the snow than those tires. What I dont know is how the ICEX compares to the R2

I'd be ok with an lm32. While we are capable of getting a lot of snow in Chicago the city is usually really good about clearing the roads quickly. So I will mostly be driving on cold pavement, not so much in actual snow.

From my research, the R2's should do a little better on snow, ice and slush. The XIce3 should have the edge in dry handling. Both should have pretty comparable tread wear.

I have a set of R2's on my Audi and had RSi's on the car previous to it. They cost more, but I've been very happy thus far. I have not owned the XI3's. Just been trolling car forums for feedback.

Here is one thread:

And for 25 members and up we can reduce it to 2000

Here's what I've included
225/45/-19 LM32 with OE TPMS and the 19x8.5 RS51 wheels in Silver or Satin Graphite.
Any update from this vendor as to whether they'd bump it down to $2,000 shipped with 25 folks?

Is this wheel the "Renn Motorsport 19" RS-51"? If so, I think the wheel weighs about 22lbs which is nice. This is the best option for the money that i've seen in this thread. I think that i'm leaning towards this.

Are there any quality 18" wheel options that accept OEM center caps?

This is the Renn Motorsport 19" RS-51. I have seen it in person and it looks really good.

No chance they were produced more recently? I'd be shocked if tire rack really sold 5 year old tires.

I had an Audi before my F82 and I've seen this wheel on a bunch of those cars in the Audi forums. The weight is really good and I never heard of any complaints. I'd probably want to go with a different tire than you listed but I'd be in for the wheels.

APEX EC-7 18x9. I just purchased a set along with Nokian R2s. Ran Nokian on my 335is and was very impressed.

I'm definitely interested in 18" APEX EC-7 with Nokian R2s square as a viable option.

There's a lot of ideas and interest here, but not sure who is heading off orders anymore. Can we try to finalize options this month for maybe both 18" and 19" group interests so orders can be coordinated soon?

People seem to be open to different types of tires, but specific about their wheel size. Lets start a list based on wheel size.

18" for me.

Nokian R2's are my top pick, I think I need them but if I decide the extra snow performance isn't necessary I'm OK with Blizzak LM-60's.
