You know, they don't really have to offer anything for some time.

They're the the only option that is "open source" so they can reserve the right to hold off on OBD II flashing if they wanted to.

has anyone "custom tuned" [tuned on the dyno] 91 or 93 octane instead of ots maps ? wonder how it compares to e85.

I'll be on the Dyno for 91 on Wednesday. However I am running Pures, so I naturally expect the numbers to be higher than stock turbos.

you will have a nice graph. it will boost low and remain unlike the stock turbos on e85.

tom @ eas chewbakam4 norcalf80m3 Thanks guys. Since Phoenix has almost no E85 pumps, I asked CaryTheLabelGuy to dial the car in on 91. It certainly has its limits no matter the hardware i put on. But I'm not keeping E85 in the garage or put $8/gal 100octane into my daily. I'll start a new thread tomorrow or the day after with the results.

So CaryTheLabelGuy dialed the car in and we ended up with 565hp and 591 tq . We ran into multiple issues with misfires, car throwing a bunch of bogus codes and even once the dyno messed up. Since I am no expert and wouldn't be able to explain issues and data or answer specifics CaryTheLabelGuy will take the time to post the charts. Dyno used was a Dynapack. New plugs NGK 97506 gapped at 0.020 installed less 100miles ago. Chart posted on my IG page stormtrooper_f80 in the meantime

I have the exactly the same setup with 91 octane. I'm using OTS map, but I was wondering if I should go ahead and get a custom tune. Do you feel the difference before and after the custom tune? Are you using it for more track oriented tuning or just trying to reach the highest power ?

There is a significant difference all around now indeed. I daily the car, so I was aiming to just get a tune that runs based of what I have on the car for that purpose. Love everything the guys at PTF have done for the community and the support I personally received is beyond any company I know. As you have probably noticed, PTF keeps testing and makes updates available. But with every update I needed to annoy the guys to alter burble times, roar up etc.. So in order to avoid that and to make sure the software fits the mods I went with CaryTheLabelGuy and hopefully don't have to bother anyone at proTUNING Freaks going forward.

Find a Dynojet. Dynapacks are pretty aggressive on the way they load up, causing all sorts of issues on M3/M4s like you are describing.

Tried but the car doesn't fit. the varis tray fins are in the way. I would have to remove it and it's a hassle. Next time we take it off we will. Appreciate the link though. Very helpful

proTUNING Freaks I know this is going to be, what I feel like is a silly and stupid, question but I'm going to ask anyway. My next vehicle is a 6-speed manual and i'm curious if I tune I still retain the feature of the auto rev-match when I tune my car correct? I know I'll have to open a support ticket to get the vin changed over for licensing, as well as getting my DME unlocked etc and I'm sure I'll be reaching out when the time comes for help on that but I was curious about the rev match feature. I would like to think that nothing happens except for the tuning part, and the rev match feature stays. Which I think it does. Just wanting to confirm. Thanks!

Correct all will be intact , your rev match will remain.

I second this. I have several OTS and pro tuned maps all of which keep the rev match intact on my 6 speed.

I had BM3 (DME unlocked/patched via bench of course), and then recently flashed over my BM3 tune with another tune that uses the new OBD port unlock method via special Frieling OBD to USB cable and iFlash software (the method every tuner is using now for port unlock/flashing), did I lose my BM3 unlock/patch? Can I go back to BM3 safely or the patch is removed/lost?

What happens if you try to flash BM3 with a locked DME?

Thanks!

If you're using a cable that unlocked your DME without pulling it (such as tuners offering OBD unlock on this forum) and had BM3 before you can just flash with BM3 again.
