I have the production # for my m3, but...
Every time I punch it in at MyBMW it links back to a different random car.. Some days it's an M3 but not the color I ordered, some times it's the color I ordered but a different model, like a 428i.
Has anyone else had this problem when looking up their order using the production #? Is there a better way to search for the car with the prod #? Any thoughts? |

Yes, this is completely normal.....give it approximately 2 weeks and it will show up as you ordered.
Yes, the 1800 number will be more accurate in getting status updates. The MOST accurate way is to constantly harass you CA for a screenshot of the Vehicle Inquiry Status he can run. But he may simply stop responding to your queries after a bit

Mine did not automatically update after it started production.
I had to remove it and re-enter the production number. It then showed my correct spec with the updated production timeline.

Yep, it's normal. I ordered an M3 in mineral grey and the original order was an M4 in Yas Marina. It changed after a couple weeks on the online website (which is typically pretty behind)

Like the noob I was at the time, I sent a semi-freaked out message to my CA who had a little fun at my expense sending back an email stating "Wait, you didn't order that?????" He followed up with another email 5 minutes later saying "just kidding" and explained it to me.

Ahhh, okay great. I also spoke with a rep at the 1800 # and she basically said the same thing. However, she was able to give me an estimate of when production starts, which will be the first week of June.
I placed the order about 2-3 weeks ago and got "confirmation" that it had been placed about 12 days ago. They originally told me that the delivery date to the dealership should be mid-late July. Not sure if that's still doable if build date isn't until first week of June? Thanks for all of the feedback guys. edit: She also said that the production #s that they give out are recycled... that kind of baffles me. |
