Placed M3 Order 3/4/15 ----> just changed to 6MT...thoughts?

So I ordered my 2015 F80 3/4/15, received my order conformation a couple days later stating the car build month is June. Five weeks ago I pinged my SA about changing the transmission and was told FLAT OUT NO! Called BMW Customer Service today because I felt that I should be able to change something weeks before my build date...... VOILA - Changed my M-DCT to 6MT!!!!!!!

Call me skitsofrantic but after driving a MT for over 30 years, I thought I could make the change but to no avail couldn't even last 2 months with only the THOUGHT of not having a stick

Also since learning that June is the last production month for MY2015, I asked about changing my order to MY2016 with production in July, they are checking into this and will get back to me ASAP.....I really hope they can do this, getting a newer MY 1 month later is worth it.

Lesson learned - dont trust slimy SA, do your own legwork to get what you want. Also go with your gut

If BMW AG says yes to the MY2016 change......I will definitely go for it, hope to find out soon but Germany has a National holiday tomorrow so probably not till Tuesday.

You won't be able to do euro delivery on a '16 in July. But if they let you.... I'm gonna do the same thing! :P I'm scheduled for Jul 2.

I live in Europe, so it's a truck delivery to the Netherlands or I pick it up, either way its a ED. What's scheduled for July 2 - your build or delivery?

Delivery. I had asked previously if I could get a 2016 delivered in Europe in July and they said earliest was September, and that they couldn't even put an order in for a '16 until June. They could have been confused... you know how dealers can be. But either way, assuming production starts in July... I wonder if BMW will even have the car ready for you to pick up in that same month.

I suppose it doesn't really matter for me though. I'm leasing.
