Man, that is a great color. Too bad the tails don't have any contrast. I really like it though.

Very nice! Thanks for posting the pictures. I hope your video will be in landscape mode, unlike your pictures

SO is very interesting color, but man..it reminds me kind a brick on wheels. Moreover, no contrast with taillights ruins all the rear look.

Everyone knows that Rutt's Hut is better than the Hot Grill in Clifton.
Great video by the way!

really digging Sakhir Orange....probably my 3rd favourite colour on the M3/M4 after Yas Marina Blue and Austin Yellow.

But I've been wanting the M3/M4 for 3 yrs now! Though I am worried that if I sell the RS5 now it may end up being a classic like the 1 series M and end up selling for more than msrp (v8 that revs to 8.5k rpm is pretty insane). RS5s right now have gone up in value since the 2014 production run is over (though 2015s come this summer so it might go down then) Decisions decisions. |

trinim3, did you order your M4 with DCT or manual? Do you have DSG on your RS5?

RS5 is DSG. My last manual car was an e46 M3. I drive in bumper to bumper traffic too often to deal with stick nowadays. |

The RS5's DSG stick shift is push up to upshift and pull back to downshift. That is reverse of what BMW's stick does, which is push up to downshift and pull back to up shift. Do you have problem with that? I find BMW's way is physically more logical. Or do you drive both cars like an auto and let the computer changes gears for you? Thanks.

Sir Loin, yes when I first switched from BMW to Audi the controls of both the auto stick and the MMI (idrive) were reversed. It is indeed annoying and in theory the BMW's directional control input makes more sense physically. However, after about 2 wks of aggravation you get used to it. For the DSG, I almost never shift it via the stick. I very much prefer shifting with the paddles. I'm also able to shift with my foot. I can get the car to shift down one gear at a time by giving just enough throttle to kick down one gear (this is a skill that takes time to perfect but is very useful). The only time I touch the DSG stick is for the following reasons: A) while in auto mode I shifted with the paddles so need to reset to auto mode B) put the car in neutral to let that beautiful v8 roar C) put the car in manual mode which won't auto upshift even at the rev limiter (I still do NOT use the stick to shift, only the paddles) D) occasionally pull down to engage "S" mode for more aggressive downshifting and holding on to revs (though I'm more likely to switch to full dynamic mode in any case) It's an incredibly intuitive/flexible system. What I'm alluding to when I say that the RS5 is growing on me each time I drive her is that the car's computer learns your driving style over time and becomes in sync with the driver's subtle inputs even in "auto" mode. Same was true of my S4. I'm pretty sure the m4's DCT behaves quite similarly, right? |
