Courtesy access seat coding

Had my car coded last night by Okee at Codemycar.com. Always great.

I sent him the the courtesy access drivers seat and front fog light coding that I found on this thread, but neither is working.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Two modules are involved.

FEM_BODY:
30C0  EINSTIEGSH_LN_AKTIV = aktiv
30C0  EINSTIEGSH_NG_AKTIV = aktiv
30C0  PRIO_ACHSEN = set to 1 or 2 (not sure what these values do but mine is set to 1)

SM (There are 2 ECUs named SMx on my car. One is for driver seat the other one is for passenger. I use the first one on the list in E-Sys)
3000  EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
3012  EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = 00, 28
3012  EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = 00, 3C

What is courtesy seat coding supposed to do?

For the fog light coding did you follow the DIY to make the switches work? The rear fog lights are fairly straight forward. My front fog lights didn't work until after I had coded NGHB. I don't think they work unless you have VLD activated which happens when you go through the process for NGHB.

Courtesy access driver seat basically moves back the driver seat when you open the door to give you more room to sit.

When you open the door after the ignition is off, the seat will move to give you more room to get out.

Apart from being convenient for me, it helps protect the leather on the seat a little more.

I just fear if I have someone tall in the back, their legs will get squished.

My X5 did this with the steering wheel, and I hated it. I had to adjust the 'exit' wheel position to match the 'driving' position. Doesn't move anymore...thankfully.

My wife's Infiniti does the seat moving thing. I always end up getting in fine, then it jams me up against the dash when I start the car since she's about 6 inches shorter than me.

Personally, I don't want anything to move...ever.

You can limit how far back it will go to exactly prevent that from happening.

Yeah, sometimes I find this "feature" annoying also.

With this feature enabled I sometimes feel like the man in the picture below

I had this feature coded - it is fantastic! Very convenient especially for those who sit a bit closer to the steering wheel. And it does take some pressure off the seat side bolster when getting in/out. The seat moves back only 3 or 4 inches - but that is enough to help.

I did do the DIY switch mod. Drove the car in the dark and it turns out that the coding did work.

The anti dazzle LED coding was amazing. Totally changed my opinion of the LED's.

I was really surprised how much activity and adjusting the lights were doing. Constantly moving. Cool.

BTW - my main reason for the courtesy seating is to spare the seat bolster some. I've got less than 2k miles and it's already starting to wrinkle.

For what it's worth, I only coded one single line in SM(6d) to get this working.

3000  EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV

This may work for others as well.

Had this coded, but it doesn't work consistently. If I reset my memory presets it seems to work and stops soon after.

I love this feature. I hope it helps my bolster wear, which at 9k miles is now starting to show some slight wrinkles.

Any special trick to make it work?

None, coded it as instructed above. You do need to start the car between it moving forward and back again...

So, if you are showing the feature off, open door, get in car and close door (seat moves forward). If you open the door again, it will not move back. However, if you start the car after the seat moves forward (like you would in a normal driving cycle), shut the car off and then open the door, the seat will move back for you.

I love this feature at the track. I install myself in the driver's seat with the door open, put my helmet on, put on the safety belt, tighten the belt around my waist, sharply pull on the shoulder strap to get the belt to lock and then close the door. The seat moves forward with the belt locked and I am firmly strapped into position .

Yes. I have it coded on mine, and coded it on other M4s. There is a thread on controlling the distance of travel, and I used to increase travel on my friend's car on Sunday, who's a bit shorter than I am. I changed the 00,28 value to 00,50, for 8cm of travel compared to 4cm, which is what 00,28 affords.

So, those who want to vary the amount of travel, here's some setting options that work (in addition to the above coding):

3012  EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = 00, 28 (for 4cm travel)
3012  EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = 00, 3C (for 6cm travel)
3012  EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = 00, 50 (for 8cm travel)
3012  EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = 00, 64 (for 10cm of travel)

Keep in mind that it will stop at the distance back, if 10cm is further than the travel allows.

Is yours working yet? I'm in the same situation as you. It worked for a very short period of time, then now it doesn't work at all. I wonder what caused it to reset itself. It's been driving me nuts

Anyone that has any pointers to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
