USA Swim Team fleet discount

Just wondering, has anyone used this $2500 discount? Do you have to be a member for a period of time before the rebate is available? Where do you obtain the rebate form?

The yearly membership is $120, but I'd say it's a good a deal considering the rebate amount.

Thanks!

That is another form of the regular fleet discount (2500 for a purchase or 1500 and a .00020 money factor discount). No idea on how long you have to be a member etc, but it is a corporate discount and does not stack with other corporate discounts and like I said 2500 is for purchases not leases).

Still waiting to hear if anyone has used this.

You can join by looking up your local chapter through the usa swim team website. The local chapter may allow you to register online or require you to pick up an application on site. The price is about $120/yr.

I believe someone with a username something like "omaralt" did it successfully. Might be on bimmerfest forum too actually not sure. I just remember reading that he was successful and that joining the association was a PITA

I remember what you are saying but I think he ended up using AARP because USA Swimming was harder to join / coordinate, if I remember correctly.

this is correct except i thought it could be done in a single week.

Also, I saw in another post the AARP expired May 1st.... Is this true? Sorry, know I am mixing this with the thread but the goal (sorta) is the same, corporate discount.

I've had USA swimming membership for years (kids). Had to fill out some paperwork initially, renewal is online. I think I paid $60 for it last year, but not sure.

If you approach any local YMCA and tell them your kid swims and you want to help by volunteering at their meets, they will embrace you with open arms.

In the members "Deck Pass" area you get to download the same BMW NA Customer Info Form (CIF) with a unique "Company account #" as you get from any S&P500 company. USA swimming just has a different account # to reference than other organizations.

Take the form to a dealer, and they bill the upfront and MF discounts to that account, based on the data in CIF.

I personally haven't used the USA swimming CIF (used my employer's, same terms), but only because I wasn't aware it had the discount when I placed the order for my new i3 in January.

YMMV,

They might think you are a greedy douche, or a perv...

On the other hand, if you say you want to volunteer to help, the reaction will be the opposite.

Correct.
BMW CCA discount, however, applies to ED purchases.

I still don't understand how this works. I called several local swim clubs and all I get is that they don't know how to make me a USA Swimming member. What are the requirements? Do I have to be an athlete or coach and join a swim team? If anyone know how to do this clearly please let me know.

You need to be on a team first. The team will race under USA Swimming guidelines and rules and this is how you''ll get the membership.

It's not very intuitive and not at all like other clubs like US Cycling, USRowing or USA Triathlon where you simply "sign-up" and start enjoying the membership perks.

My 9-year old has a membership and I'm planning on using it since it is my wife and I that sacrifice big time so she can swim 4 x per week.
