Which tires to choose?! 437M Rim
Hello all,
As I'm sure this has gone around and around (no pun intended). I searched through the forum but didnt quite find my answer. Apologies if this has been posted all over. Its time for me to get new rear tires on my 437m's. I dont want spacers and the car is at stock ride height. I want to push the size as large as I can (295-305) without having to add anything else. I've been seeing folks using 295/30/19 but stock is xxx/35/19 correct? My question is regarding fitment with no alarms while still getting more grip. I live in the bay area and do track the car from time to time. With that said, what could I comfortably push the size to? Also, which tire would best serve me? I see folks saying not to mix tires as the compounds are much different but I'm unsure. I dont want a super sticky track tire thats going to wear out in 5k miles from normal use but also dont want an all weather tire thats going to slip around on the track. Opinions?!? thanks so much for everyones input and sorry if this is giving people ptsd with the repeats.

I have the same wheels as you. This thread helped me a lot.
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ght=295+vs+305 If you're stock height, I believe you'll want to stick with a 35 series tire though.

I have two sets of 437m's.
295/30/19 & 275/30/19 with Michelin PSS 285/35/19 & 265/35/19 with Bridgestone RE-71r Both these combos fit well, don't rub and no driving errors. |

Thanks for everyones replies. I've since been digging through that 18 page post. Tons of information, think I'm going to go 275/295/35R19

I dont think you're going to get an answer to that in my thread. If you look at the first reply there is an 18 pager that deals with our rims and different ride heights etc. Going to have to do some reading to get your answer.

I havent purchased my tires yet. I still have a decent amount of my fronts so I was going to see if I could get the 295 rear and keep the 255 in the front. My local shop said heck no, essentially I'll have to buy 4 all around because otherwise the ride would be terrible. They also advised I go 275/295 30 19 rather than 35. I havent asked why but imagine its because of ride height? Not sure, but I trust them.
