to wait or not to wait..
I guess I'm not the only one with this question..
but basically I'm back in the states after a year in europe and before I left I sold my 2010 dinan m3. Now I guess it's time to pick up something new.. I could go with a gtr or a 991 or a c63 coupe but.. I guess I REALLY miss my m3.. ***so the big question is.. 1) lease the last e92 m3 for a couple years until the m4 comes out.. (leaning towards this) 2) go with one of the other cars I just listed and not look back.. 3) just keep the e92.. (the new m4 may look incredibly nice but so far it sounds like an oversized lawnmower.. with those turbos) 4) just wait until the m4 comes out (not sure if i can even wait that long).. I would love to hear some input from you guys.. so far I can't justify my own decision.. |

Personally, I've decided to hold on to my E46 M3 and wait until the M4's specs are officially released. ONLY then will I be able to make a choice and not look back. If the M4 looks disappointing, then I'll probably look into a GTR.
There's no point in judging the upcoming M3/M4 right now. There's still two years to go until it's officially released. Anything can happen.

you wont miss your M3 once you're holding GTR wheel, which i dont think is necessarily a good thing.
assuming you're not quite often into track, i think C63 would also give you greater pleasure. For daily drive, it's responsiveness and big accelaration that all matter, isnt it? But it's not recommended either cuz that's all you got and that cost your a good look (dont you think so?) and fuel and the time you waste for fueling which is really fucking annoying and it's chronic as long as you stick with C63... My suggestion is either to get a GTR (sure then you're gonna be bored by any other supercar) or to see what's next gen M3/M4 like. |

the thing is my only incentive for an m3 over a gtr or c63 is that i can get it in manual.. and as for the 991 i would rather wait for a gt3 but that would take too long..
and the other thing is that i need to pick up another ride by christmas or new years.. |

Go with option 1. Lease an E92 for 24 or 36 months. The M4 won't be out until 2015 anyway.
I'm gonna be in a pickle myself next year. My E92 lease is up in August 2013; I have no idea what I'll do when it's up. I may just buy it and wait til the M3/M4 comes out.

I would go with option 1 and wait for the M4 and if for some reason you don't like it, just turn the lease into a buy and enjoy your E92. Either way you win . Don't get me wrong the GTR and the 911 are amazing cars but I don't know I guess I'm a BMW guy

I'd go for number 1. I'm actually gonna do the same in a year or so. Finance the last model year M3 (it's gonna be prestigious) and enjoy it until the M4 is well into its second-third year of production.

Just sold my M3 and unless an amazing 993tt or a 997 c4s or tt comes across, I am going to wait for the new M4. I really don't understand people ordering 2013 M3s. The new one is just around the corner........just be patient

I just went through the same problem. I was driving a 2011 335is which I liked but wanted a naturally aspirated new car. I took a hard look at Porsche 991 S cab, the trouble was I was afraid of a 2012 and a video on youtube said you have to remove the back of the car to get at the engine. A friend got a new '12 GTS which he likes but they are hard to find new. Incidentally he offered 100k on a 120k+ car and they took it. Another friend has an '11 E63 AMG which is na but the new ones are turbo. I finally decided to get the '13 E92 M3 and I'm glad I did. I wanted an na car. I even got my wife a '12 328i E92 to get the na 6. I did a 1 pay lease and using the $1500 holiday credit and the $750 loyalty the car was a good deal. I drive 5k miles a year or less so I plan on buying the car in 3 years. It's possible I might be able to buy it for less than the 62% residual. Because of the BMWFS incentives it costs very little more than just buying the car at day 1.
