Auto-tilting side mirror not returning to proper position

Anyone experienced the issue of the reverse tilt mirror not going back up when your going forward? I can't seem to get it back up even when going forward

I am not trying to state the obvious...check the position of the switch on the driver's side panel for the rear view mirror to make sure it is not placed to the right. I experienced a similar issue which resolved after allowing it to reposition automatically when in the "left position" (towards the driver's side).

I personally leave this feature off with the switch in the "right position".

If it is stuck, I would schedule an appointment with your SA. Keep us informed about the resolution (i.e., if you need an actuator replacement).

Good luck.

Mine seems to do this from time to time as well. It has always resolved if i make sure that my adjustment switch is to the left and then i go into reverse and drive a second time

yeah mine happens from time to time as well, i usually just re adjust it or eventually it'll go back by itself if you go to reverse and then into gear again as stated by others^

Haha - this is funny. I guess you don't remember the days where a passenger side mirror were optional and you actually had to turn your head.

Same, mine seems to get stuck in the downward position....kind of irritating, but I never park by curbs, so i just leave it in the right position.

Well you still have to... your mirror does not see your blind spot. Unless you have some kind of blind spot assist or special circle mirror.

If you read the whole thing instead of skipping to the good parts (MY post )

You would know that i was mocking that someone posted that he was not sure how he was going to get home with his passenger mirror turned down. I merely pointed out that there were times where you did not even have the mirror on the....

Oh good lord do I really need to explain this?

Come on MAN!

I did read and still, no matter what, you still have to turn your head to look blind spot... wether you have a working mirror or not...

You know if people didn't have this thing for seeing their car in the side mirrors, the side mirrors would do a pretty good seeing the blind spot.

For me, we are are learned to just see the slight edge of the door handles, like right right before you see the handle that's where you put you mirror.

So you know, you should not see any car in your mirrors. The reason being is you know where the car is... You want to see where the car is not...

Hopefully you get to take a performance driving class at some point and they will get you squared away!

What I just stated is what you just said. By putting your mirror right on the edge of the handle, you don't see anything of your car, thus you use all the potential of your mirror.

Proper set up - you do not see any of your car. Either way good luck to you.
