Sharing my experience: wheel damage after ED drop off
I did Euro delivery of M4 last year in September, and when I took redelivery in November at the Performance Center, thanks to my OCD , I noticed a scratch in my rear rim. They took some photos and asked me to contact ED when I get home.
The car was bought through Steve Thomas BMW , so people who buy from David and Jimmy know the level of awesomeness they provide. Jimmy contacted Euro Delivery for me, they basically asked PCD photos directly from them. Which I sent over in an email. Told me goto my local dealership and get the wheel and tire replaced (the pictures showed a tiny cut to the tire as well). I wasn't sure how the local dealership would cooperate because I loath their sales team, but I love their service team; and I didn't buy the car from them. I forward the email to their service director after speaking to her. In a week they had a new wheel and tire all ready for me. Since it's winter and I am on my winter shoes, I just picked up the new rim/tire. It was $1600 for the tire and rim ( shown on the invoice) but I didn't need to pay anything . On top of that, to my surprise they gave me the original scraped rim back. Since it's not a warranty issue, they said it's mine to keep in case I have any wheel damage due to a pot hole or something. The scratch really wasn't a big one (as shown in the photos) So overall, even though it wasn't ideal to have a small cut on the tire and a scratch on the rim during transit, BMW took care of it. Posted in case it helps anyone else. Cheers! |

Did you have to prove that the scratches weren't caused during the ED drive around europe?
or did they go through an inspection when you drop off the car, just curious, awesome to hear they take care of you |

I didn't need to prove anything. I noticed the scratch due to my OCD when I picked up the car at PCD. Showed it to the delivery folks, then took pictures. I emailed their photos to ED. Then I was directed to my local dealership to get it fixed. I know for a fact it didn't happen in Europe, because I was careful where I drove or parked. Also, when I dropped off the car in Munich they inspected the car and gave me a clean bill of health .
