Well this accident shows that the car rolled and destroyed the left side completely.Nevertheless pure lack because if there was another passenger next to driver, we would have a casualty .

I understand people who critisize the driver because i believe they want to make a point. Its a powerfull rwd car we are dealing with and nobody should underestimate the powers of nature while driving . Although there is no proof that it was a drivers mistake, there are signs that shows that it could have been a driving fault.

Even if he tried to avoid a fox or a deer, f...k that deer man, hit it. I saw a documentary the other day on how many people lost their life trying to avoid cats, dogs, foxes. I was schocked . Just run over the beasts

I don't see a linked article and we have no clue where this took place.

But there was an M5 accident when it first came out, I believe it was in excess of 150mph on the autobahn and ending up rolling several times. That looked about as bad as this or close to it.

At that rate of speed anything can happen. Even the best driver will be helpless. That's why it's called an accident.

Just my .02
The accident happened in Klerksdorp, South Africa.

Although I agree with you that this could happen to anybody no matter what their skill is or circumstances. The facts are that here in South Africa the maximum speed limit is 120km/75miles per hour on mainly our highways. Now I know that speed limits are broken, hence why we get amazing speeding fines. The area looks to be nowhere near the aforementioned speed limit and hence negligence can be seen here.

I personally think that the point I would like to make here is that no matter how good of a car this is and how good of a driver(s) we may be or have out there, we all need to remember that this car is governed by physics and also has the ability to have failures as you mentioned. At the end of the day it is only 4 contact points on the ground that determine if we are in control or not.

I personally feel that there are too many variables to see and harness the true capabilities of this car on our normal roads with minimal risk. I rather leave the thrill, enjoyment and sheer strength of this car to the track where it is more controlled and has less variables.

Anyways, not gonna say more, if anything it just makes me appreciate my F82 more.

Nah. Sensible people call them crashes. Most are avoidable, especially single car. 150mph on street, even the autobahn, is rarely sensible. Which isn't to say I wouldn't do it! I only did 125, but that is only because I had a green engine.

The driver's side (the right side) appears to be the more damaged side. In the first shot you can see the left side looks fairly intact.

I agree with your points. I regularly drive at 150mph+ on the Autobahn where legal to do so and traffic/ weather conditions are conducive. Of course there is always a risk that someone will pull into the left lane without checking properly and cause an accident.
In this scenario you could say it was my fault for doing that kind of speed in the first place but my opinion is that if I was driving legally at that speed and another driver ( who knows he's on a stretch of derestricted autobahn where fast moving traffic is a given) fails to check his mirror properly before pulling out causes a crash then he has made a mistake and is ultimately responsible for that accident.
Of course when driving at high speed you always have to be very alert and second guess if someone is going to pull out or not which is actually quite easy. If I see a car in the middle lane is coming up behind a truck or other slow moving vehicle I always slow down expecting him to pull out.
In bad weather or if there is lots of traffic it is too dangerous to hit those speeds but plenty do. In this case I would say the driver doing the high speed must shoulder most of the responsibility. Just my opinion.
Either way I'm very impressed how the M4 protected the driver in this crash!

It is truly amazing this guy walked away, it looks like it rolled quite a few times to sustain that type of damage. These cars are safe as hell and this is just another example to remind us that the engineering goes beyond 0-60 times.

It does bring a smile to my face reading down through these posts. To see most people here albiet car loving m fanatics, have the the sincerity to ask or comment on the driver being alive and ok before discussing the cars demise.
