Question How much did you mod your leased car?

Knowing you're going to be turning the car in in a few years, how much did you do to it?

Just some simple stuff like black grills, spoiler, etc or expensive stuff like MPE, xpel etc? How many bothered with more expensive paint protection vs normal polish?

On my current 435 I mostly just added window tint, some CF parts and black kidneys, most of which I can easily remove at the end and sell to recoup a little money and I'm thinking I'll probably be similar on my upcoming M4.

Current list:

Macht Schnell lowering springs
Mach Schnell spacers
Black kidney grilles
Painted reflectors
CF front splitters
CF spoiler
CF rear diffuser

Probably won't do much more unless I decide to keep the car at end of lease.

I'm busy working out a deal right now on a new lease and planning on getting the M-Performance Spoiler and M-Performance Rear Diffuser built into the lease. Seems like the cheapest way to mod when leasing a car. I was going to do the black kidneys and sides as well, but ended up checking the box for the competition package, so that's already taken care of. I'm not planning on any additional mods after that.

And I guess the other question, do you all plan on removing the stuff when you turn your lease in or turning it in as is with everything still installed?

OP,

Seems like there is a great market right now for lease transfers/purchases on modded cars. If I were in the market, I'd shop the classifieds here. Quite a few good deals and you can save a bit versus picking up the parts new.

Performance wise, most popular option would be the BMS JB stage 1
+4 psi (very ~50 whp increase) and takes 5 minutes to install and uninstall

Some also add intakes as well since dealerships are usually very easy when it comes to intake mods

I always mod leased cars and just sell the parts afterward. On my audi S4 I installed:
Intake
Milltek Exhaust
Tune and pully

Can't sell the tune and pully but got $2k on the resale of the exhaust and intake which cost me $2500 total new. So the way I look at it I "leased" the parts for $500 for 3 years of enjoyment

Wheels, black grills/side markers, Mode Carbon FRP lip, Akrapovic diffuser, Remus exhaust.

Nothing that isn't easy to remove and sell or transfer to a new car if I decide to get another one. Might buy it out and mod it further (suspension).
