Presenting the AWE Tuning F8X M3/M4 Track Edition Exhaust:
The Track Edition is for those who like it loud and rowdy. All of the time. The AWE Track Edition Exhaust for the F8X M3/M4 utilizes all of the precision engineering found within the popular SwitchPath™ Exhaust, minus the valves and rear muffler. What’s left? Straight-through, uninterrupted flow and tone. Thanks to the precision-engineered integrated X-pipe up front, unwanted rasp typically found in other aftermarket F8X exhausts is subdued, leaving what would be classified as the “valve open” soundtrack from the SwitchPath™™™ Exhaust to sing loud and clear… just 100% of the time. The Track Edition Exhaust retains the option of coming complete with either Resonated or Non-Resonated mid pipes, enabling a bit of fine tuning to desired tastes. Tip Options: All tip options include the AWE logo and double walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. All tips are individually adjustable, allowing depth into the bumper to be set according to personal taste.
IMPORTANT NOTES: The AWE BMW F8X M3/M4 Track Edition Exhaust is for racing use only. The Track Edition is a loud system, and cannot be returned for sound preference under the 30 day satisfaction guarantee! Question? Hit me here or direct via email. That's surprisingly not raspy... Does that car have stock downpipes?

So this track exhaust should sound the same as the switch path exhaust with the valves open full time? Or would it still be slightly louder than the muffler counterpart with valves open?

hey Josh/AWE what is the sound difference between the track pack and the switchpath non-res? I'm also curious to know the systems performs for daily use(not that I care since I have valves open all the time ) just curious as to the drone really.
And what is the difference in systems between the non-res and track pack? Is it essentially just no rear muffler section? Same 3 inch mid and xpipe that comes with the switchpath systems? And if one wanted to is it possible to just buy the track pack rear section to swap out with my current system or would I need to get a whole new system?

Hey all - questions for those that have heard the AWEs in person or daily drive them - have listened to all videos I can and still need input -
1. Switchpath - is the tone deeper, about same, or higher pitched than stock (non ZCP)? Rasp is obviously much less than stock (+1) 2. Switchpath Volume - I drive stock valves open pretty much all the time except when exiting my neighborhood early in the morning. Have a valve controller to do that. If stock with valves open is 1/10 volume then how do the switch path resonated vs non-resonated land on the 1-10 scale with valves open in terms of volume? 3. I assume under light throttle and valves closed these are both about as loud as stock? or still noticably louder? 4. Drone - Stock sucks with the drone using open valves in 3rd (6MT) specifically - can anyone comment on drone resonated vs non compared to stock? Thanks a ton, and great thread - thanks to everyone for all the videos. I'm considering the Remus vs AWE vs just throwing a mid pipe on my otherwise stock setup.

You are correct -- everything carries over from the SwitchPath™ counterpart (x-pipe, full 3", res/non-res mid sections) except the tailored muffler. You can easily convert existing SwitchPath™ systems via our conversion kit, which is listed here on the SwitchPath™ product page. |

1) The AWE NR has a much deeper tone than stock non-ZCP, plus a whole lot of deep, gurgle/burble. 2 and 3) I think that the loudness of the AWE NR is condition dependent. For example, cold start with valves open is MUCH louder on the AWE NR than stock. Cold start with valves closed is a bit louder with AWE, but not a night and day difference (as it is with valves open). In terms of "normal" driving, I think the difference in loudness between stock and AWE NR is really dependent on how much you're on the throttle. Maybe I'm delusional, but I think that if you're gentle on the throttle, AWE NR is louder but not HUGELY louder. If you mash the throttle (i.e., "give it the beans"), AWE NR is MUCH louder than stock. Maybe that sounds stupid or doesn't make sense, but to my ear, that's what I'm hearing. 4) Not much drone at all (if any), also on 6MT. I also was torn between Remus and AWE NR. I went AWE and have never regretted it. That's not in any way saying Remus is a bad/worse option, it's just different exhausts for different folks. Looks like you're in the New England area. Shoot me a PM if you happen to be in the greater Boston area or are willing to make a drive up that way and want to hear the AWE NR in person. I'm happy to meet up at a cars and coffee or something like that. |
