BMW ConnectedDrive Renew

I received notice my ConnectedDrive service will expire soon. I think it was included with car purchase for 3 years. After which you need to pay $199/yr for Safety and $398/yr for Safety and Convenience.

Convenience has live traffic which is very helpful.

Anyone paying for renew?

Is there any negotiation with BMW on yearly renew cost?

Kinda expensive at least to me. I use my phone for live traffic with waze or the map on my iPhone with carplay.

$398/year...ouch.

$398 is a bit steep. I didn't realize it was that much. Live traffic is helpful; however, I find Google Maps to be better most of the time.

I renewed it on my M4 and it was only $106.

Thanks guys. I called and it appears to be $50 USD to renew Traffic Updates and $50 USD to renew ConnectedDrive.

Probably worth the $100 to renew both for a year.

I wanted to get updated Navigation Maps - I do not think 2015 models are able to download updates over air - so probably have to go into dealer for those.

How much should I expect to pay at Dealer for Nav Map updates?

The dealer will charge you $250 to update your nav maps. Use one of the remote coders from the forum. I believe it's about $50.

Those come for free with ownership of the car. If you want Live Traffic and Apps - those cost you the extra 50 bucks a year after initial 3 years included with car ownership.
