Has anyone actually used the flat tire inflators in these cars?
I can't really see it working in anything other than a very small pin hole. Then what, does the rim have to be cleaned?
I bought a mini 20" spare for the trunk and am trying to figure out a way to secure it down in the event of a front crash. Was curious as to others experience. |

If your a prepper then you should consider keeping a decent tire puncture patch kit in your trunk along with a Li powered inflator. Where I live contractors drop nails like they are seeding a gold course.
Tire shops dislike "fix-a-flat" sealants which make a spoogy mess of their tire mounting machine. A friend had the compressed tire sealant thing explode in the trunk of his F80 while on track last summer (very hot day). He pooped himself and his trunk was also a mess. |

Yeah I've never used the OEM kit. The tire sealer is most likely expired. I do have a tire plug kit, a small tool kit, and a small compressor though. I used it once a couple of years back. Got the tire warning for the left rear and pulled into a parking lot. Found a nail with air escaping from it. Went under the car and removed the nail, plugged the tire and filled it back up. The following day had the tire patched/plugged properly from the inside. I do also recommend a blanket of some sort though. The pavement was a bit hot.
