Least I get to put on the rear LCI lights for my gal now.

That's a plus.

Chances those black seat logos won't crack like the current ones? That might be worth installing...

I don't see enough changes to motivate me to switch over to a different model. Headlight/tail light modification never really mattered much to me and that's the only major improvement on the M4.

That stitched plastic dashboard is going to look a bit weird though.

Why were the headlights updated on the m4 but not m3? In the e9x generation the lci didn't even include a headlight update

The videos and pictures clearly show both were updated.

This is the first generation 3(/4) Series where the LCI did not include a revised headlight shape. The reason why exterior lighting updates never carried over to the M3 in the past was because of that change - too much cost to justify for its lower volume (I.e. not profitable). But, with no changes necessary to the M bodywork to accommodate the new lights, there was nothing holding them back this time.

So those who bought the F80 LCI only got a half-refresh. What do we call the new F80 LCI? LCI 2.0?

Ok I see thanks for the clarification I went back and watched the video and saw the m3. Feel bad for whoever bought the original LCI m3 now that this is out

It's interesting. I sort of agree but will wait and see what it looks like in person before forming my opinion. They def look a little lazy in photos

Either BMW had a change of strategy or they will be announced at a later date.
A lot of BMW M engineers do have a great sense of humor. I am sure they get a kick of reading bimmerpost.

Are they really insiders or are they speculators? Seems to me they see mules running around with what looks to be OLED installed and then see a "5AN" option code in the ordering system and then starts making assumptions.

I don't think BMW would change strategy that quickly. After all, parts needs to go into production at the suppliers long before it goes onto a car for production. "5AN" will be offered on the upcoming CS.

No. There are known insiders who've shared countless BMW model details well in advance of their public announcement including release dates, options, engines, etc.

Perhaps not. The nature of the beast is that you have data in front of you and sometimes it's hard to tell what is going to make it to production and what isn't. BMW builds and tests vehicles in configurations that don't end up making it to market.

It's everything I expect it to be and one or two misses. The cars look even more aggressive now with the L shape angel eyes.

Just looking at the list price of those OLED tail lights will tell you there is no way it be offered on all the 4 series models, doesn't even make sense as an option.

Can you imagine someone walking into the dealership that drives a base model 4 series with cracked taillights and be told "that would be 25% of what your car is worth, how would you like to pay for that. Cash, credit or financing at 2.9%?"

So, unless that blue on the M3 in the video is something other than either Tanzanite Blue or Azurite Black, I don't think there are any new M3/M4 colors. Edit: per pics below, M3 is definitely not Azurite, and doesn't really look like Tanzanite either, but hard to say.

You're a bit late to the party; we've had this discussion before. First, the OLED parts are likely priced the way they are today in part to keep them from becoming a widespread aftermarket upgrade, thus protecting GTS exclusivity for the time being. Secondly, the part used on a non-GTS M4 or 4 Series needn't have been the same as the one on the GTS. So a lower cost could be realized, and this would also preserve the GTS light's exclusivity.

In the not-so-distant future OLED lighting will begin to proliferate throughout the BMW lineup.

Pre-production cars were built with OLEDs. However, things can change. No one knows for sure, until it is made public.
