Courtesy delivery
Can anyone on the east coast comment about their experience with courtesy delivery after ED? I have my ED order with David and I trust him but I'm a bit worried about the courtesy delivery dealership. I haven't been able to find much reviews or journals of anyone doing courtesy. I just like to get a general feel if anyone here that has done it before and what their experience was like. The courtesy dealership is BMW of Catonsville, if that helps with any feedback.

Most dealers shy away from courtesy deliveries so the ones who do do them most likely have done them in the past. As always if you have any question or need anything you can pm me anytime before 645pm. Im here everyday!

I had the same setup but changed to PCD last minute... David is my crack dealer as well.
However, I stopped by my schedule courtesy delivery dealership before changing to PCD and met with the same sales manager to introduce myself and request special treatment: don't wash the car, don't remove sill/footwell plastic... etc A little OCD/nerdy but SM didn't flinch and probably expected something like this for a M-car. If you have a small relationship F2F vs. email/phone then I'm sure it will go a long way. |

I'm in MI and the dealership is about 40mins away. Maybe ask David to shift to a closer dealership? It's your baby so I'm sure you are willing to do whatever necessary to ensure satisfaction at delivery.

My reason against pcd was: -uncertainty in date for taking time off, hard to take off again after just taking 2 weeks off -logicistics of returning my current lease, wanted a simple here is my old car, give me my new car .. Instead of returning and finding alternate transportation -extra minimum of 2 week wait means extra dual payment on both cars -long drive back up to NY I know the pcd experience would be awesome but planning on doing the m school anyway so will get to experience that then

PCD is great ... unless you live way too far to make PCD a viable alternative.
Driving 1+K miles from Greer, SC would be a bear. Especially if you intend to follow BMW drive-train break in procedures and not keep the engine RPMs at cruise control highway constant. On the East Coast, I've heard BMW of Manhattan does 'courtesy delivery' for a reasonable fee. Others may do as well, usually for somewhere north of $500 (roughly the cost of airfare to Greer SC). a

A long and interesting story about setting that up, my delivery will be about 2hours away for a $750 fee. Cheaper than flights/gas/hotels and more convenient.
