You can take his comment 2 ways, if he said i had a vibration in my wheel as well as the whole car. Or he also like other has a vibe in the wheel as well. I shouldnt even have to explain this.
You tossed an accusation at him in post #44 that was unwarranted, and that's what I was referring to in my response to you. The English language has subtleties, so it is up to you, as the reader, to pay attention to what is being said. You're the one with the reading comprehension (.and basic punctuation and grammar) issue(s) here Yas, not me.

pretty sure my car was built after diffgate (september 2016 build)

i've noticed a slight thud (feels like from the rear) when coming to a stop and car downshifts from 2nd to 1st. happens about 50% of the time - seems random and independent of being in auto, manual, sport, sport+ etc

just passing 500km so not sure if it's normal or run in behaviour

Only certain late 2016 built M's were affected by the bad diff. AFAIK, 2017 are good to go.

Update on Rear Diff from Luke....

OK they put the new differential in and drove it,, I have a vibration between 60 and 70 mile an hour .. BMW said maybe driveshaft so they ordered a new driveshaft for it, put the driveshaft in,, vibrations a little better but still same vibration between 60 and 70 mph... went through all the questions about is it balances are not balanced so on and so forth. Redid all the tires balance in the shop ... BMW says it's fine.

This is BMWs explanation for the vibration.

Quote:
Competition package M4 do not use rubber bushings between the car frame and the carbody there for transmitting some vibration from the drivetrain to the car body. They said that the standard M4 has rubber bushings therefore does not transfer as much vibration.
Unquote.

BMW had a brand-new 2017 M4 competition package took it out and drove it and found it it had a very similar vibration as mine between the same 60 and 70 mph..

I have talk to BMW corporate about this issue and they are supposed to call me next week with the resolution.

I would really like to get your guys opinion on this vibration issue and whether anybody thinks this hold weight or not about the frame bushings.. and is anybody having this vibration issue ,,

and when I say vibration it's small but it's very noticeable ...

You got bad information. The F8X M3/4 have not had frame bushings from the beginning. That is not unique to ZCP cars.

The rear differential issue surfaced somewhere in May 2016... The period extended to late June 2016. July builds have the new revised differential. You have nothing to worry about

Does anyone know if there is a published reason for the issue during this timeframe? I have a ZCP April build. I read something about a quality control issue. I have only a few miles on my car and I hope that don't start experiencing problems. I just wonder what changed in May and why?

I'm dealing with the same problem. The diff was replaced at the port after returning from ED. The car vibrated terribly and could not be driven above 85. They replaced the driveshaft which fixed the high speed oscillation, but I still have the 37 mph and 67 mph one. The 67 mph is also felt through the wheel.

Ok that's a bummer... I have a meeting today 12/19/16 with BMW I'll let everyone know the outcome...

Updates would be appreciated. I took mine in yesterday for the 1200 mile service and found out I need a new rear diff. I will be looking for these issues. Hopefully I wont have them too!

Vibration during acceleration 2016 BMW M3 F80 6k Miles

Vibration during acceleration, 2016 BMW M3 F80

I just purchased a 2016 F80 BMW with 5,000 miles and it was used at the performance center so I know it was driven hard. I also saw an issue with noise from rear, and they replaced a wheel bearing.

Since I read about this history, I have been listening and feeling and I also noticed a vibration when I would accelerate, Usually starts around 50MPH and stops above 75MPH, almost like the vibration that you feel when the lane change notification feels like when you drift out of lane.

I had an E92 M3 and but this is my first F80 M3 and I am not sure if I am just being anal, or should it be smooth like I would expect for a car of that caliber.

I would love to hear what you find out.

Update 5/4/17: As I was driving home yesterday, I tested mine over and over and it seems to stop vibrating at 75MPH and I happen to have a radar detector on the dash and I noticed when I did feel the vibration that the radar detector also rattled which leads me to think it is something up front other than just the steering wheel area, ?motor mounts?

solution?

Have anyone found a solution for this?

I have the exact same problem With my 2017 M3 competition. The car is not on the recall list for the diff, but it still making a "clunk" sound and the vibrations at 50-75mph under Acceleration.

Drove a 2018 M3 from the dealership, and it was night and day. What a difference! the New one felt so much more tight, and didnt "jump start" or anything. it was so smooth to drive.

My dealership has now decided to change the diff on warrenty, but i am affraid it could be more than just the diff?

Anyone else experience this drivetrain issues? Is there any known solution to this?

(Sorry for my bad English. Im from Norway)
