[Audio Coding] Has anyone tried to switch the actual Audio System setting?
I have been using the BimmerCode app to play with various settings, and I noticed two options to change the audio system (separate and apart from the B&O menu option that is featured in the other thread on this issue).
In particular, under HU_NBT > 3002 AUDIO_TUNER_TRAFFIC there are two options to change the audio system: 1. First, there is AUDIO_SYSTEM_VAR, which allows a selection of variants 1 through 4. I'm not sure what any of these does. 2. Second, there is AUDIO_SYSTEM, which allows selections of Stereo, hifi, tophifi, individual_sound, hk_surroundsound, highpremium, and hifi_system_harmankardon. A screen shot of this is attached. One reason that I didn't leave my menus as the Bang & Olufsen menus as explained in the other thread is because the sound (to my ears) was worse in both Standard and Expanded modes. My guess is that the different wattage and number of speakers just makes the sound hollow. However, what if we changed the system itself? I wonder if that would fix the issue. I have not tried myself because I am afraid that I will fry my system by sending incorrect signals its way. I don't encourage anyone to do this, but if someone *has* tried it, how does it sound and is it safe? Thanks. |
