Darn rocks
It was about time, exactly a year into ownership I got my first rock chip (crack). It's in the lower center of the windshield. Is this something I can get filled or will need replacement? Car is a lease.

These windshield are prone to chips! Had the same moon shaped rock chip in mine. After the dealer refused to fill it in stating the loc was too low (I have the protection package which includes these kinds of repairs) I went and bought a repair kit at the local autozone. Follow the directions and you should end up with a decent repair. I'd do this ASAP as you don't want this thing to run beyond repair.

Yes I def agree with u guys...this windshield is too soft, I wasn't even going fast and I have this moon shaped crack. So it is a possibility that with a decent repair I can get away with it at lease end? I'm in NJ so there is no separate glass deductible. Full cost to replace would be around 800 at the minimum I'm guessing

You should be able to get it filled, after all is said and done it will look like a minor bug smear.
The dealer will always try to sell a new windshield, take it to an indy auto glass place to fill. |

I got something worse and took it to a glass repair place I found on Yelp. They drilled a tiny hole and injected it with resin. While there is still a blemish on the windscreen, it looks like a small smudge on the glass now.
