Bootmod3 ots 93 stage 2 burbles/cold start

What's up guys i flashed my car last night with the Bootmod3 OTS stage 2 and results were day and night in comparison the jb4. I currently have a 17 zcp M3 with fbo's and the initial start after flash I realized right away the car was much quieter during cold start(which i dont like) so after letting car warm up a bit I took it for a spin know the vehicles DME needed to adapt. After driving for a bit I noticed the burbles were no where near the stock ZCP. So my question here is I'm asking if there's a way to get that loud cold start again along with the burbles like the stock zcp which the sweet spot in rpm range was 2k-3k. If anyone can give me advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

I'm running Bm3 CS tune and the burbles definitely doesn't sound as loud as the OEM ZCP.

It's there but I've also heard OEM ZCP and even with stock exhaust it's much louder.

Same, I'm running Stage 1.

There is some level of cold start which appears to happen but it hovers around 1k rpm.

And yes burbles are a whole lot less then standard ZCP. It's more so changing down you don't get any burbles, you have to be on the throttle and let off to get any.

It's not an issue if it's 'by design' and honestly in the last week I've got use to it, probably because it pulls like a train now!

As long as it's not just me experiencing this I'm fine with it for the simple fact of the cars overall Preformance. Although I'll definitely miss the cold starts and the burbles on command lol

Care to expound further on how this was possible on ZCP?

My statement wasn't literal lol. In other words burbles on stock zcp are much more pronounced and effortless. Simply letting off throttle would cause burbles along with in between shifts(6MT)

ahhh ok makes sense. I'm hoping BM3 looks into this cuz the videos online of CS tunes show louder burbles off throttle.

For stage 2 u could contact Cary here for custom tune and he could get back to zcp levels. I think it's only $100 more.

Also is it possible that ASD is on? I coded it out when I got the car so not sure if I need to disable it again

I flashed the OTS GTS tune recently and my burbles were completely gone as well initially. I've only put about 10 miles on the car since I flashed it but I am noticing that the burbles are starting to come back slowly. They're nowhere near as loud as they were stock (my car is a zcp) but I am wondering if that is part of the adaptation period. Not sure why that would be the case but I'm sure there are other people on here who would know.

My car felt like that when I first installed my jb4 too. Then after about 2weeks it went back to normal. Cold start was quiet and when I rev at cold start there wasn't burble. I believe it's still adapting. Give it a few drive and some time

OK thanks for the feedback.

I'm going to check if ASD is still disabled after flashing.

If anyone gets back to OEM ZCP level, kindly post here.

Same here - I'm running stage 2 and the burbles are no where near the level I was expecting. Very quiet indeed.

Just to add different aspect to the conversation. I'm non-zcp (with Remus backbox and Active Autowerke midpipe).

Prior to map I had no burbles just the usual sports+ pops and crackles that comes with the exhaust.

Since flashing (Stage 1 - 93) I've burbles always appear on downshift and most noticeable in 2nd, 3rd get when lifting off.

Efficient = No burbles
Sports = very little
Sports+ = silly loud and constant they last 6-7 seconds

As it is doing a video this weekend anyway so will be good for someone to watch once done and see the thoughts.

(ZCP) just got BM3 OTS Stage 1 yesterday. Burbles in Sport is definitely louder than stock. In Sport +, it's toned down to where you can barely hear it.

I think they addressed the issue with ZCP in the last update, but I'm not 100% sure. I have a non-zcp so for me they are fine in stage 1. I think the end-user sliders they are adding should finally correct the issue, especially for ZCP owners.

Remember, the cold start is just BMW's way of getting the stock cats up to temp and operating normally (by making the car run shitty). If you don't have cats, it's not needed.

That being said, I loved cold start on my E92 M3...the V8 rumble was amazing. In the F80, it just sounds like a dying chainsaw. Can't wait to install downpipes and disable that shit.

Thinking about getting a custom tune, but I'm stock beyond the exhaust. Anyone else stock and getting custom stage 1 tunes?

Sorry guys I'm still confused. Does the updated BM3 zcp/gts tune properly emulate the stock zcp burbles in volume, duration, aggression, etc? I've heard some yes and some no.

So I'm on stage 1 ots file version 6. Sport mode has lots of aggressive crackles and pops on my car but sport+ mode was exactly like what I had with zcp sport mode: very short and subtle pops.

Thanks for the response yjypm. Have you tried the other latest versions of the OTS tunes like the CS or GTS and the sport+ burble is the same to a oem zcp burble? Also what exhaust setup are you running?

Hi, are you implying the burbles are more aggressive in Sport than in Sport+?
